So I ordered my room on hotel tonight app in full I felt I got a good deal a 1 bedroom hotel with living room setting area very cozy for $120.00 apond my arrival I felt the hotel overall looks very nice very well established how ever the service I felt violated I felt I was ripped stripped and scammed out of my money 💰 when I explain to the receptionist I paid in full online he's response quickly with static excitement as if rehursde over again and this was the moment to exercised the minor mistake he made in manually typing in a new and much higher price for me of 319.00 I began to ask him in disbelief why am I being charged $319.00 he explain it's a 75 dollars security deposit.. Ok $75.00] $319.00 ok he assured me that the charges will be reimbursed back on my card the proceeded to ask me to swipe my card again so that the charges can reverse unfortunately I explain that's not how your system works you just told me I have to wait 2 days then 24 hours... I asked him for a receipt he responded we don't have receipt. I responded I need some type of proof that I payed for this room double the amount and I will be compensated he responds I will manually type you a receipt.. thank God for digital computer transaction because as advance as we become we have also get even crafter with scaming..I would like to address I'm a transgender black women and I completely felt sexusly violated when he ask me for my real id I proceed to look into my other purse to back up my identity and proof of online payment as my send bag was much heavier I bend down to reach for what ever proof I can give him or that he could comprehend this isn't playdough this is discrimination and money laundering theft..after being discriminate and sexualy gaze at as I bend over to get the paperwork to support my identity because a government issued drivers license wasn't good enough because he notice the gender was F and not M he got up from his chair/ desk proceed to stand behind me then snap a picture of my backside of me bent over I saw heard the camera snap noise and axiom if you roll the footage you can clearly see him get up from his desk to stand behind me my friend was there to accommodate me with my heaviy bags because the man who was dress as a usher or a employee who would help with guest bags decided the slouching on the lounge couches and staring at your phone with your jaw wide open was a more fitting for the situation . I'm gonna end this off with it took 3 room changes and still did not accommodate me to nearly the room that I purchased on line after the last room and tired of carry bag that weight more then me I decided to wait until check out then contact the manager to share my experiences as well as My attorney I let alot of small unintelligent things brush off me but this I will not allow to just be swept what give you a hotel company and there employees what gives you the right to pray on your costumers with out your costumers your business would not flourish it would just be another idea that was made then sild the bought and boarded I will never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone it's a shame because it's really nice interior design how ever no matter how luxurious the furniture is that's no excuse to be unperfessonal inhuman and just upright disrespectful and be rob adding insult to injury ..shame on you axiom hotel 28 ciryil magnin street San francisco CA...

Why this thing was spared by the fire, I'll never know but will always regret. The rooms are tiny...smaller than a cruise ship. And old--dents and dings everywhere, trimwork only found in very old buildings, stuff really just falling apart top to bottom, all just painted over. There was an old style radiator on the floor, with the wire running up to the thermostat outside the wall. The carpet was dirty and I was very sorry I did not pack an extra pair of socks to wear after my shower (at least there was running hot water). There was no ventilation of any sort in the bathroom, so...tiny room, tiny bathroom, no vent...you can do the math on that one. The main window was large, and it could be opened (which is good, since, again, no vent or a/c, or even a fan in our case). Then you get to see and hear the entire city outside the window which includes, of course, Powell street and the crazies who live on it, and the end stop of the Powell trolley line (DING!!!). Closing the thin single pane of glass only muffles the sound, so you get to hear it all night regardless. Then in the morning you can decide what was louder--the city outside the window, the stairwell beyond the wall, or your neighbors in the next room beyond the other wall. And by "morning", I mean 8:30AM, which is precisely the time housekeeping was knocking on our door, so don't make plans to sleep in. The beds were single, so very small, and I don't know how old they are, but perhaps as old as the rest of the place, because they smelled like it. There's a protective liner between the mattress and sheet to give you a sense of protection from the elements, but it's only about 2/3 as wide as the bed, so you get to pretend you're a little kid playing some kind of game to see if you can stay on the magic raft and not touch the imaginary toxic sludge you're floating on. I've been to 3rd world countries multiple times, and I have endured worse, but that's the thing. My stay at the Powell reminded me of all those other bad experiences and I had to draw on them to convince myself that I could make it just 1 night there. And I could accept it, I guess, if I hadn't been bamboozled by all the puzzlingly positive reviews I found online before booking the place, and if I didn't have to pay over $200, including parking, as the price of entry.
Good points: Lobby staff quick and attentive, seemed proficient at checking you in and correcting whatever they could quickly (like missing towels in the room). Valet guy seemed to hustle too. Free wifi access. Sheets and pillowcases...

Room was pretty small which is expected for a city hotel but with limited places for clothing. A room for 2 has a wardrobe and one drawer. However half of the wardrobe is taken up with a handy fridge and safe so little room for a weeks worth of clothes. No bedside drawers or anywhere else to hang clothes so had to rely on cases. Bathroom was lovely and large. Only seen staff on check in but cleaner was very happy and accommodating. Cafe at front door was never in use which is months after COVID regulations have been lifted, the ‘children’ arcade was 4 machines and a football table, not much else. A machine to buy things didn’t work. Not a hotel you could relax in for the day but good as a base. BUT worst thing was the shock of urban fees. We are just about to check out and found that we have a lot of extra costs to pay that no one told us about. Not when we arrived, or by our travel supplier and now we are stuck with a large unexpected bill. It is a con and very sneaky. So beware when booking for very large costs approx $35 a day 😢 not good end to a holiday. We didn't sign for anything, no one sat down and explained the costs to us. When we questioned this the day before checking out as we double checked our bill before we left, we were rudely told we should have brought it up earlier (we had not idea it was there so why would we??) and when I asked what it was for, it was apparently for the gym (which we didn't use) and the childrens area which was very sparse. When I highlighted we didn't use these areas so why should we be charged extra and these are advertised as amenities of the hotel not additional areas no one could answer. The manager was no where to be found to discuss this. It is just an additional cost they add regardless and not willing to talk about. They agreed they made a mistake which we have written in an email and offered a refund and removed the charge. However a week later they changed their mind and when we arrived home they decided to charge 50% and said they hadn't done anything wrong and were just reducing the cost out of courtesy. I would recommend getting something that has no urban costs so you know what you are paying, you would cost less to travel into the centre each day and staying a little further away from the centre. Always ask about these...
