Over the holidays, my friends took me to a new roasted BBQ duck noodles in San Jose. This place is in a big shopping center around Grand Century mall with all types of food businesses. It's so big that it's quite easy to get lost of forget where you park your car. The name is quite different for a chinese VN restaurant "360". Anyhow, the restaurant is quite new, high ceiling, clean and airy. The right side you can see all the nice colored BBQ ducks where you can buy and take home. We're seated at the end of the left side. The prices are in par with all the restaurants around here. $17 a bowl. There are quite a few dishes offered here, but we're here for the BBQ duck noodles soup. The bowl came out with the broth filled up to the rim, quite impressive, I liked it already. Each bowl came with a separate dish of BBQ duck, NOT skimpy which I like. So it's all in the broth, and the soup is so tasty and just right, someone may think it's too much MSG, but whatever it is, it's excellent. But since this one meat is only BBQ duck, there comes the meat, the duck is marinated and cooked perfectly, not too salty, not to sweet, not to much star anis spice, this is the best BBQ duck I've had so far anywhere. The noodles were cooked to perfection, not too soft, just crunchy enough. BUT for me a little shy, I needed one more portion of noodles because the soup was so good and plenty. The service here is hit and miss, last time we came, the place was packed and only 2 person running the whole place, take quite a long time to ask for something. Yesterday was not so busy, then the server was quite attentive and fast. So yesterday I came again with a friend and ordered extra noodles. The bowl of BBQ duck noodles soup was extremely consistent, excellent, this is what a good restaurant should be. Guess what, my friend loved it. This time we had chinese donut fried to crispy with our soup....

The server was trying hard to convince us to order their special roast goose (ngỗng) dish, "it's like roast duck, but only offered on weekends (it was a Sunday evening), and everyone who's tried it says it's good, you guys should really check it out." Our party of 6 wasn't feeling too adventurous, and turned it down 2-3 times, but ultimately gave in.
In the end, we didn't regret the decision. The goose was not amazing or anything like that, but most importantly, we all thought it was good. 4 ⭐. Not surprisingly, it was hard to distinguish from roast duck, with only perhaps some subtle differences.
Not sure why the server was pushing hard for that, presumably it was special and cost more haha someone else was doing the ordering and I wasn't really paying attention.
We also got lobster 4 ⭐, fried rice 3 ⭐, chicken 3 ⭐, stir-fried pea shoots 3 ⭐ (probably too chewy), wonton soup 3 ⭐, gỏi củ hũ dừa (coconut core salad) 4 ⭐, súp cua (crab soup) 4 ⭐. We were not able to finish and brought home most of the lobster, most of the crab soup, some of the chicken, and half of the fried rice.
With a couple beers and automatically included tip, the whole dinner came out to $415.
The food came out relatively quickly, though at 7:40pm on a Sunday it wasn't too busy -- the restaurant was perhaps 40% capacity.
Service was relatively good. I was semi-suspicious of the push towards the roast goose but she was friendly enough, and I was tired and hungry enough after a whole day sports tournament out in the July sun, that I didn't have much energy...
Read moreWe came here for a late dinner and decided to order the Crispy Fried Noodle with Beef and half an order of the Roasted Duck.
When we first entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the workers and were motioned to sit right away. I read some reviews before coming here saying the service wasn’t attentive but in my case, it was. We placed our order and food was served at a decent time.
Crispy Fried Noodle with Beef: 10/10 I really like this dish since the sauce was flavorful and not too overpowering. This dish has a lot and can be shared. I like how it’s crunchy but n the outside and the more you dig in, the more you can also taste the soft noodles on the inside due to the sauce. The veggies were cooked properly. I would recommend!
Roasted Duck (half order): 9.5/10 I’ve had a lot of roasted duck in the past and this one is very juicy! The skin was crispy and soft. Really good roasted duck but towards the end it got a tad bit too oily for me, hence -0.5 stars in my rating. I would definitely...
