Bánh Canh Cua (Vietnamese Crab Tapioca Noodle Soup) was very good. Broth was thick but not too thick. Noodles could have been a little chewier but they were fine. Pork was fatty and good. You only get 1 shrimp but it was a decent size. As for crab, you get 1 leg section and a small pile of lump.
Spring rolls were fine. Snail sausage was pretty light on snails; wouldn't get that again but it didn't taste bad or anything.
They also had my favorite drink, passion fruit juice. It was sourer and less sweet than Lee's Sandwiches (a good thing in my book).
Despite a language barrier they managed to get our entire order correct.
They don't seem to have enough sweet and hot sauce containers for every table. They kept stealing them from one table and giving them to another table.
Hole-in-the-wall atmosphere but looked relatively clean. Smells a little like an aquarium store because of all the fresh seafood.
The mall can be a bit crowded so it's hard to find parking. I also wish they were open later and the lot wasn't so full of smokers who have the time to stand out there and...
Read moreMy new favorite Bun Rieu ( Vietnamese Crab Noodle Soup) to go to. My friend suggested me this restaurant since I was craving for Bun Rieu. During Covid19, the restaurant is serving out door sitting and also to go. Not a lot of tables outside but pretty good numbers, just enough to keep everyone a safe distance. I ordered Bun Rieu (crab noodle soup) and Banh Canh ( crab udon soup) . They both tasted super delicious. Specially Bun Rieu came with Mam Ruoc, which is my favorite. Bun Rieu wont be Bun Rieu if there is no Mam Ruoc. The portion is kinda big for me, but I think it is good the price. Beside the best Bun Rieu, I also ordered a large Nuoc Mia (sugarcane). The large size was very big, it lasted me whole day. Overall, I love this restaurant. Food is tasty and good portion with good price. Staffs follow Covid19...
Read moreNot many places to get banh canh cua around here, well not many good ones at least. If you know of a better spot please let me know. If you come here on weekdays it’s usually not as packed and at night there’s plenty of seating. I got the banh canh cua and it came out pretty fast, keep in mind that it’s the winter season so this place hits harder because it warms up your stomach. Go light on the chili peppers if you’re not good at eating spicy. I can hold my own but after adding 2 spoons, I was hurting with every bite but at the same time loving the flavors. This place is spacious and has a big mural on the wall and a few TVs, I like it. It gives you the vn vibe. Park for this place can be a pain so you’ll have to park on the sides and...
