The restaurant is on a nice location as well as inside of it. Staffs are also nice enough. BBH, Bún Bò Huế, is popular now day besides Phở. Unfortunately not all of restaurants are able to make BBH to make people WOW. We, two people ordered Bánh Bèo Khô, BBK, Bánh Bột Lọc, BBL, and BBH, of course. The texture of BBK and BBL were moderate just a bit thin. The fish sauce for BBK and BBL were also a bit sweet. Huế’s foods is not supposed to be sweet. BBH, it did not make my day, the broth way too sweet, I mean sugar sweetness. Again, Huế foods are not supposed to be sweet. Huế people or most most people who live from Central of Vietnam, they’re very limited in their use of sugar to sweeten their foods. BBH,s broth lacked shrimp fermented paste, mắm ruốc, and also lacked of amazing aroma and taste of lemongrass. Spicy, depends, (my mom in-law is from Huế, she is not a type use too spicy in her foods, none of restaurants out there compare to her BBH) it's nice that there is a stainless steel jar of sipcy paste on the table, I scooped 2 of its. Beef, pork meats and beef tendon were not too tough not too soft which I liked. Also, the pork blood was very well cooked, right on the texture and was not dried. The noodle itself was overcooked, became mushy…..by the way, inside atmosphere of the restaurant which we liked but BBH of the day we visited, at least of...
Read moreYum surprisingly pretty good! They're named after their BBH which was good, but I truly fell in love with their appetizers. More specifically the chewy and crispy banh it ram, tapioca pudding with shrimp/pork filling. It was my first time trying it and it was so good! That chewy and crispy texture went so well together. 1 dumpling is very hearty, so this dish is worth sharing!
The BBH is good and tastes cleaner than other spots. My husband likes the more traditional style with shrimp paste, but this one is what I prefer. Light and clean, and packed with meat and noodles. Mmmm... The banh beos were also good, definitely get their appetizer sampler which comes with each appetizer item. I loved their Vietnamese style tamales - we tried the banh bot loc which is a tapioca starch clear like steam dumpling and the banh nam which is a flat rice dumpling. So good, I highly recommend getting them. We also tried the mi quant and their special fried rice. I would love to try their bun rieu next time.
Service was friendly and fast. Love how big and spacious it is inside. There's a big beautiful mural painting alongside one of the walls. Tons of seating inside and outside! It's also located in Vietnam town plaza towards the newer side, right next to Sack of Potatoes. Love how spacious it is with...
Read moreWe found this restaurant from a post on social media. We arrived around noon time, and this place was packed. They are people waiting. You write your name on a sign in sheet. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. We waited about 15 min and got seated. No one gave us a menu, and we just grabbed it from an empty table. We also have to wait for a while to order. The menu is simple and not many items. Looks like the popular ones are Banh Beo kho, Banh it ram and Bun bo hue. I see elslmost every table order Ban Beo kho. Since this is not the only appetizer, we order an apppetizer combination. For main dishes, we order bun bo hue and Mi Quang. For the combination, I like Banh Beo kho and Banh it ram. Both are yummy. The Mi Quang is unique, and the first time I had it. It is noodle with light soup. Bun bo hue is ok. I think the soup is too light. Overall, it was a good lunch. One thing you need to be patience Our Bun bo hue arrived after we are almost done with other dishes. Looks like they are overwhelmed. Like most Vietnamese restaurants, you pay at cashier. CC...
