The servers and people at this cafe are unimaginably rude if you need something beyond paying them money. If you sit for 5 minutes before buying anything they will come find you and tell you that you need to buy something to stay (and no, I am not nor did I appear like a homeless person or poor). But if you go directly to the front desk to buy from them, there's almost never anybody there. You must holler or go hunt them down from their hiding corners in the kitchen behind to get attention.
That's when things are normal. Recently, I had my car broken into in the parking lot in front of their shop at night while I was inside reading. My laptop and cellphone were all stolen. The total cost to me was around $800-900.
When I noticed there were CCTV cameras pointing toward the location of my car, situated right on top of their shop, I approached their workers and manager to ask for a way to review the CCTV footage.
It was at this time when the two women of Vietnamese descent either out of annoyance or complete lack of care pretended that they don't speak English. They, both the worker and the manager, refused to give me the contact information of the owner of the store nor to help me with the videotape. The manager completely didn't give a damn that I, a paying customer at her shop just 15 minutes ago suffered a tremendous loss on her property. After pressing for over 15 minutes, she finally told me the roundabout time of when the owner of the shop might appear the next day. The woman told me to give her my phone number and contacts and said she will have the owner call me.
Of course, nobody ever called after. When I went back and confronted them, the girl, a server, who appears to be still in high school, gave me a fake number to the manager that I spoke to prior. It wasn't until I asked the ice cream store and the beauty parlor next door in the same plaza that I was able to get the information of the owner of the building.
I hope this is enough info to shed some light on their attitude toward money making and their thoughts toward the customer. You are a cash cow. When you walk in, you are only as good as your wallet. Call me naive, but I do have a problem when a business is this explicit about it...
LAST BITS...IF YOU WANT TO SHOP THERE, BE WARNED, THE THIEF THAT ROBS PEOPLE AND BREAKS INTO CARS COME BY EVERY/EVERY OTHER WEEK TO DO HIS/HER ROUNDS, HIS/HER DUE DILIGENCE. THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED FROM THE COPS, AND CUSTOMERS IN THE PARKING LOT. THE OWNER OF ONE OF THE SHOPS NEXT DOOR TO BOBO TOLD ME HIS OWN CAR GOT BROKEN IN THE SAME DAY AS ME AND IT COST HIM $1000+ TO FIX. NOBODY GAVE A DAMN.
Oh...and one of the bathrooms at Bobo have a door that opens from the kitchen. Even if you lock the door to the outside, the savages in the kitchen can, will, and did, break in while you are inside. Don't expect them to apologize. They won't. No remorse. No wrong done, not sorry at all.
Work work, money money, all...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE! There is a lot of fierce competition with bobo shops in San Jose but this one is with standing it! The new boba place that opened up doesn't know what they are dealing with. The prices are great and the quality too. The employees are really kind and if you need anything you can ask them nicely and they got it! Don't be shy! There is a sweet old lady in the back who cooks everything and even has her lil girl come by to help! They make all the food in store when ordered so you really get an amazing quality. The menu has a wide and diverse variety. And again since it's all made in store on order is great!! My favorite of all time is the bahn mi!! Their Vietnamese sandwich is fresh and warm. Even the wrapping is very thoughtful. I also love the seafood fried rice and the beef veggie noodles. I really can't emphasize how delicious the food is unless you go yourself. They also sell smaller snacks like popcorn chicken which I think is how I best rank boba shops. This popcorn chicken was very crispy and crunchy like a classic fried chicken rather than breaded. They also have a sampler bucket which I actually really enjoyed each one!! A few things to note is that the menu doesn't really describe what are in the items. One reason for this could be the inconsistent orders. Like I said I love this place so I come back often. Different weeks the same order has different ingredients. I think this might've been a time when they sold out of certain ingredients? For example once in my stir fry there was tomato and chili and other veggies and the other time there was not. There is also no trash can in the store so unless you leave everything on the table like a jerk you gotta take it with you. This store environment is also very wholesome. There is comfy seating and beautiful light it feels super cozy. Specially during the winter when it's cold and wet outside I recommend enjoying the time here. They open very late too but I think the hours on the Google map is inaccurate. Now for the boba drinks themselves. The variety is they sell all the basic flavors, some variety mixes, and advertise their own specialty drinks. They also have different drink varieties like coffee or smoothie. I always just get the green tea but my husband loves the fruit drinks here. I really appreciate how the drinks here have like half the sugar as other places. It's sweet without giving me a headache. Definitely recommend it and hope you enjoy the food and atmosphere as much as...

If I could, I’d give this place a big fat ZERO or maybe even a negative number. First off, the lady at the counter (short, young woman with glasses) literally SCAMMED us. We asked for a Thai milk tea with boba (6.75) and a Taro milk tea with boba (6.75) without knowing that she’d charge an extra .50 for both because they only had large cups (which weren’t even large to begin with, the pictures online are a lie). We also asked for no ice for both drinks, and she didn’t even TELL us that we’d be charged an extra 1 dollar for each drink with no ice! It doesn’t say anywhere that we’d be charged for no ice. We didn’t even realize we were scammed until we left the place. The grand total was $16.50 for 2 skimpy drinks with very little boba. We drank our drinks but it tasted weird, as if it wasn’t fresh, and the Taro one looked gray. The tea taste was very little and you couldn’t even taste what it was. It was like drinking slightly flavored milk. Boba was a little chewy but some were hard. We had to throw it away because I felt like one of us could have gotten sick from it and I wanted to be safe. This place is built upon dishonesty and shouldn’t benefit from anybody’s money! Take your money...
