IMO, this is one of the best Pho places in the bay area and I've been to many. First, the most outstanding that I never seen in any of the Pho restaurants in the cleanliness. The place is decorated tastefully, obviously using a professional interior designer. All the decorations, from tables, chairs, interior decors, down to the water glasses and even chopsticks and straws are of good quality, not the cheapest ones like others.
The menu is limited, focused mainly on Pho. No appetizers or other food items. Beside of Pho, then there's some dessert and smoothies. I ordered a few different kind of pho, and all of them offer premium meats and flavorful broth. I was impressed that the side veggies served with Pho are carefully prepared. Beside of the typical basil leaves & bean sprouts, they also have culantro which is not typical and not easy to find here. More impressively, the bean sprout was steamed to ensure the cleanliness as raw bean sprout can easily be contaminated with bacteria.
One of my most favorite parts of Pho Dang is that they serve their home made Sriracha & pickled garlic. This is so unique and so good! I tried avocado smoothie & soursop smoothie and both were amazing (be careful as soursop could be mild laxative if consume in large amount). The egg coffee is strong and smooth like how it should be. I like the desserts as well since it's not too sweet but my friend did not like the texture.
Overall, Pho Dang is one of a kind Pho restaurant. Not your typical ones. The ambience does not feel like a Pho place at all and I'm quite happy to find a place with comfort food that I can sit down and enjoy. No rush!! One thing they can improve is the service to match with all the great things they already do. Maybe have a system where they can repeat and enter the order to the system so they don't get the...
Read moreI’ve been on a mission to find the perfect pho—chasing that dragon from spot to spot around San Jose—and finally decided to give Pho Dang a try, even with all the new places popping up lately. Let me just say, this one really stood out.
First off, the vibe inside was unexpected in the best way. The decor, the furniture—everything felt high quality and well thought out. Nothing cheap or thrown together. It had a cozy, homey feel, but with real Vietnamese character, which is honestly rare to find in NorCal these days.
Now let’s talk about the food. The broth leaned a bit on the sweeter side, but still flavorful, and the meats were super tender. What really blew me away was the little details—like the pickled garlic (huge win) and this house hot sauce that was straight fire. Not your basic Sriracha—it actually tasted like something you'd find in a legit spot in Vietnam. Spicy, bold, and totally addicting.
Service-wise, it was on point. The staff were kind, super attentive, authentic.
Overall, Pho Dang definitely earned a spot in my top pho joints in San Jose. Worth the visit if you’re after more than just a bowl of noodles—this place delivers on vibe, flavor,...
Read moreI didn't give the Pho 1 star because the flavor was good, after I had to cook it myself. I ordered Brisket Pho and thet gave me some type of raw meat with so much fat that it wasn't edible. I was afraid I'd be sick from it.
They took about 30 mins to give me my order, since they had forgotten about it. I was excited to get back to my room and chow down. But, you can tell they have never or rarely do takeout. They didn't give me silverware, napkins or even the proper size container for the Pho. I was only able to eat half of my Pho, since the container was nowhere near the size it should have come with to eat the full size. Everything was raw!!!!! I had to go back down to my lobby and microwave it so the noodles and everything else could at least cook and be edible!
I am so disappointed 😞, because I was really looking forward to this Pho. I will never be ordering from...
