Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in San Jose

I am soooo glad this opened up in my area. The owner and staff are are so welcoming and friendly. As soon as we walked in, we were promptly greeted as we made our way to the selection counter. The store is extremely clean and there were enough tables of 4 to seat us. We love to visit new stores and welcome them to the neighborhood so today was the day. The sun peaked out and we wanted to get out of the house so this was perfect. Coldstone ice cream is just so much higher quality than BR31, IMO. The selection of flavors is plentiful and then the add in the mix-ins to your heart's content. Enjoy the ice cream in a cup, or in a waffle bowl or a cone. Have a shake or a fruit smoothie. I am amazed to see how much the store offers. I can't wait to try the cream cakes for our parties. I also found out that this store has already supported a local school's cultural night! Hats off to the owner for getting involved so quickly. Ok, so now to the delicious part! We ended up purchasing a few different items. The wifey wanted an afternoon wake up so we had the coffee ice cream with the Heath bar toppings. I am usually not a coffee fan but I have to say this is the darn best coffee ice cream I have ever hard! The smooth an creamy texture is rich with flavor. The added Heath bar is just a perfect compliment to the coffee. The generous scoop of ice cream was more than enough to satisfy both of us. I ordered a mango-pineapple smoothie. The fruits are sweet and the smoothie was blended perfectly to a smooth and silky consistency. And no extra sugar added, this was excellent. Our daughters both ordered the Birthday Cake Remix. This was pure heaven for them. Birthday cake ice cream, a favorite among the young ones, mixed in with rainbow sprinkles, brownie and fudge! Just wow! On of our family members ordered a Vanilla Lite Coffee Shake (custom order) topped with whipped cream. Once again, light and easy to drink shake which was not oversweet and just a perfect treat in the afternoon. We also decided to take home a strawberry mango sorbet packed in a pint. First off I had no idea You needed to start a custom order for an ice cream cake 24 hours in advance so once I completed my order and saw it was for 6:15 pm the following day I was shocked and super disappointed because my nieces birthday party I was hosting was at 3pm the following day. I called the store and immediately scrambled to find a resolution with the lady that answered the phone. After a short time and a quick story of why I needed this cake well before 6:15 she told me shed text the manager and see what she can do. The manager was absolutely amazing and even personally reached out to me to make sure she fully understood my situation and the reason I needed the cake before the 24 hour limit. She moved heaven and earth and told me to resubmit my order and let her know when I did so she could get the staff working on my order that night before shutting down so it could be done the following day before 3pm. SHE DID IT and saved my whole party ! This was so amazing and truly a remarkable example of customer service from a fairly large company. I was over joyed and very happy that she was able to coordinate with me and her staff to make sure I had the piece of resistance for my nieces party. I have been to all the Cold Stone locations around San Jose and I feel like I usually have something bad to say about each of them. I mean, I’ll still go here for the premium ice cream they serve, but some locations have employees that barely fill the cup, some serve it too watery that it’s like soup, and so on.

I realized this new location opened up at The Plant and I had an excellent initial experience. First, it’s closer to be than the other locations. Second, they filled it to the top and it was not soupy lol. If anything it was a little messy because they tried to pack so much ine cream into the cup with the lid - that's good in my book! Also, I was in and out very quickly.
