Two trips in about two weeks time should say it all!!
Parking is usually not a problem as there are ample spots available. Once you get in, be ready to be in line for about 45 minutes to an hour (usually its faster than that) though the wait is every bit worth it for what's to follow.
The atmosphere at Boiling Crab is casual and lively. The rustic decor, picnic-style seating, and upbeat music create an environment that's perfect for a laid-back, seafood feast. It's a bit on the noisy side, but that's all part of the charm and the vibe that you feel once you are in there.
The service at Boiling Crab is outstanding. The staff is not only friendly but also incredibly efficient. They guide you through the menu, explain the ordering process (which can be interactive and fun), and are quick to assist with any special requests. They make sure your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible.
In our first visit Vincent was kind enough to even walk us through the process of dismantling the crab shell to get that quality meat out of the same. He did answer all our questions with regards the options available and did suggest along the way as well on what was popular vs what he liked personally as well.
During our second visit Jordan was amazing and he patiently took our orders , helped us with our questions and made sure that we got nothing but the best when it came to that fresh, succulent seafood that the place has to offer.
The seafood is incredibly fresh, and you can customize your order with a variety of flavors and spice levels. Whether you're into shrimp, crab, lobster, or a mix, each bite is a burst of deliciousness. The "Shabang" seasoning with is our favorite, but there are plenty of choices to suit your taste buds. The sides like corn on the cob and potatoes are equally scrumptious and perfectly complement the seafood. Boiled eggs too rank high in the list. In between the two visits, we did order the King, Snow (has a lot of spikes on the legs and can be a bit challenging to work with) and the Dungness crab along with Shrimp, Potatoes, Eggs, Sweet Potato fries and Onion rings.
To sum it up, its an excellent value for a seafood feast. The prices justify the volume of food that is delivered which is served every bit fresh and the sauces/seasoning are to die for.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking a seafood extravaganza in a fun and...
Read moreOk you could chalk this up for nostalgia but yesterday we finally got the chance to revisit one our most favorite restaurants that is as an ode our love for seafood and the way we prefer to consume it.
Yes, we confess, we love the Boiling Crab, not only for its fresh seafood, but also for the immense pleasure one gets when eating food with our hands - one of the key sensory receptors that takes partaking food to exhilarating levels of satiation!
This pandemic time around, we ordered take out as they do not serve indoor or patio dining and was mildly surprised to see they were not being served thru' any delivery app either. So we ordered via phone and then drove across town to retrieve our bag of goodness.
Fast forward, an hour and a half later we were back home with the following:
One 2.2 lb Dungeness Crab (frozen as Crab season has been pushed out till dec 16th this year (what else can 2020 bring us...)
A pound of Shrimp
4 Corn on the cob pieces
All soaked in Sha-Bang Sauce and mild spice level (yes I am a wimp and stand up for my right to be so! )
And with the customary bag of paper towels, lime halves for cleaning hands post meal, bibs and a large paper sheet for the table.
While we enjoyed the meal immensely and we even went through the fun of setting up our table at home for dining as they do at the restaurant - table covered in paper, bibs etc, we missed the ambience of doing this at the restaurant, Also the crab when fresh, tastes so much better. I think we would give the corn on the cob and the shrimp just short of top marks as well for the same reason.
Will look forward to erasing all these points once we can get back to dining at the restaurant directly, when crab season is...
Read moreThe flavors are out of this world!
Seafood is one of my favorite foods and mixed with spicy and flavorful sauce, Cajun Creole is easily one of my favorite meals. I have tried numerous places, in California and DC, and this place has, by far, the best flavoring I've had.
We arrived late afternoon for a memorial day dinner and for a table for 3, we were quoted a two and a half hour wait time. We didn't know if we wanted to wait so we stopped by Best Buy first and then Starbucks and sat around to discuss our options. We checked our place in line again on Yelp and found out that the line reduced significantly, probably due to people not showing up.
We decided to stay and when we were seated, we ordered snow crab legs, shrimp, potato, corn, sausages, and Cajun fries (we were starved!!!). Sauce is whole shabang, medium spicy.
The snow crab legs came the quickest and in a separate bag (probably to not poke holes in everything else). It was so delicious, the sauce only elevated it. Then came the shrimp, corn, potato, and sausages. The shrimp was clean for the most part, with a few exceptions but you can just clean those out yourself. It's hard to mess up corn and potatoes so they were packed with flavor and scrumptious as well. If I'm being honest though, I have had better sausages at other places. The Cajun fries were very crispy and good.
Only thing I would recommend to the owners/managers of this establishment is to get gloves in addition to the bib. If you have cuts on your fingers, this can get...
