First of all, I want to say that the food here tastes very good, and the prices are reasonableāthese two aspects deserve a 5-star rating. However, the service attitude here deserves a infinitely negative score. There was a male server with dyed yellow hair whose attitude was absolutely terrible. I've been in the U.S. for over 10 years, and this is one of the worst service experiences Iāve ever had.
After our family was seated, I reached out to him, signaling that we needed some water and children's utensils. He was pushing a cart to deliver dim sums and made eye contact with me at least five times, but not once did he respondānot even a nod. Later, he went to talk to a female server, and I signaled again another four to five times. He continued to ignore me like I was invisible.
Then, when he pushed the cart past our table, it was like he had amnesia or had gone blind, completely oblivious to the fact that I had already tried calling him about ten times. I stopped him and asked, āDid you hear me calling you? Did you see me signaling to you? You should at least acknowledge me, not pretend you didnāt see anything.ā He had no remorse whatsoeverānot even a single "sorry." Instead, he gave a smug, sideways smirk and said, āI didnāt see,ā then just walked away.
There were only two servers in the entire dining areaāthis man and a woman. If the male server deserves a score of -100, the female one would get -99. I understand that lunchtime can be busy, but thatās no excuse for poor service and arrogance.
I advise everyone to stay away from this restaurant. No matter how cheap and how good taste the food is, if it leaves you feeling this angry, itās just not worth it. We cannot tolerate this kind of misconduct, their attitude does not...
Read moreI was a guest of my friend who has been coming for dim sum at the restaurant for more than 15 years. I understand that a new chef recently joined the family restaurant. We ordered the typical items for 5 people. Every item was delicious and freshly cooked. The fried chicken wings were perfectly fried just the right amount of batter and the meat was tasty, tender, and moist. The Cheung fun wrapped with prawns were also were fresh, huge, and moist. The fried tofu were perfect fried with a sprinkling of chopped garlic and jalapeños. The Char Sui buns, sponge cake, and taro bun were soft and freshly made. The pork/hundred year old egg congee had ample chunks in every bite. Overall, every dish was so delicious and freshly cooked.
Staff was very attentive and responsive, especially when she noticed that one of our elderly guest appeared to need help with the tea. Staff courteously and respectfully helped her with the tea and stayed by momentarily to ensure that she could manage on her own.
The restaurant has a traditional Chinese decor with generous spacing and low partitions between tables that allows ample privacy for the guests.
I am planning to bring my extended families for a larger family celebration because of the delicious food, spacious facilities, reasonable prices, and ample parking on site and street parking.
Sorry no photos this time since I didn't have my phone handy but I can assure you that the food looked fabulous just as it was delicious.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in a less frequented area of San Jose. it matches the cuisine in the more expensive fancy Chinese restaurants in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot a horrible experience, but also not a good experience. We arrived around 8:45 on a weekday (posted closing time is 9:30), but by 10 after 9, employees started pulling all the table cloths, getting on ladders to deal with burned out light bulbs, sitting down to their own dinners, etc. We felt very rushed to get out of their way. This is also the first Chinese restaurant I have ever been to in 30+ years of eating at Chinese restaurants that does not include any rice with your entree. I could understand paying separately for rice if the entree were priced accordingly, but instead these entrees were about 30% more expensive than entrees of similar size and marginal quality at other restaurants. And if you want fried rice rather than steamed, you have to buy an entire entree portion. The majority of Chinese places I've eaten at have included not only your choice of rice, but also a cup of soup and an eggroll or chicken wing. For the entrees themselves, the texture of both the chicken and the beef was very unpleasant, and I ended up leaving most of my meal behind. The only thing I really enjoyed was the basket of "chips" served at the beginning of the meal--some sort of light fried concoction that popped on your tongue like Pop Rocks. I was really hoping to like this restaurant, as we've just moved to the neighborhood, but I don't think...
