SKIP this place and give your money to the Hyatt or Double tree instead. Trust me. ||||I have a weakened immune system and needed to go back home to my home state, I rebooked this hotel after missing a flight. I have had this condition for 20 years. Several occasions I walked up to the front desk and the worker either didn’t have a mask on or tried to pull it off their chin quick, as if I didn’t see that. There literally are signs everywhere that says you must wear masks in public areas- so why isn’t staff enforcing that? I’m a chemo patient and it wasn’t enough for them to keep their mask on. ||||I had a few stains on my bed, as well as a 5 inch WHITE hair in my breakfast. I told the desk and ask them to remove the eggs- not sure if that was even done- it could’ve but I did not stay around to see. I don’t think they planned on doing so because I asked twice and they didn’t say a thing about it. ||Management called me shortly later tried to make excuses as well as say they don’t have anyone with GREY hairs- I had to correct her and say it was a white hair. She said it could’ve been a guest, I believe it’s an excuse because I got there at 7:50 and scooped untouched eggs from a part of the container that wasn’t touched. She didn’t offer to do anything until I asked her twice. I had to let her know of my medical condition and my concerns because honestly your germs can kill me and literally send me to the ICU. I don’t think you guys get people actually do have medical conditions. I had to ask her what the best she was WILLING to do for me. She again said uhh what do you want me to do. Then finally she offered to comp my stay- which has NOT been reflected in my bill yet. I will be waiting a few more days before I call the bank as well as the hotel. ||||The elevator also broke and stopped working causing me to be stuck by a door you can’t even open- I was literally stuck because there was crowds of people lining up at the elevator. And some “genius” thinks it’s a good idea to have that enterance door locked. Nobody wore masks except me- if I get covid I definitely know where it’s from. Having this enterance door locked while your elevators aren’t working has to be the most dumb idea ever- you guys realize this is a pandemic right? Please rethink of your solutions because this isn’t safe for a person like me- I can’t imagine what the elderly have to go through when they stay here. ||||They put me on floor 7. I read that this place had free working hand sanitizer on each floor. The Hand sanitizer machines all on that floor were not even filled or on. The pandemic isnt even over and not once was there hand sanitizer in them when I stayed. My room was right next to the elevators- I guess I should’ve specified weakened immune systems shouldnt be in the most busiest areas, but you know minimum wage hotel staff, they think they’re smarter. I was already tired of waiting for the elevator. I was NOT going to wait another hour for a room. ||||||Last thing is I left some items there. Yes my fault however the cleaning lady claims so only found a pac sun bag with candy in it. What about my two cups of water, translucent bag with a grinder and my half drinker Starbucks? You mean to tell me you didn’t find those? I’ve worked in hospitality, retail and management myself to know when team members are LYING or omitting the truth. I don’t expect to get anything back because the name was high quality. I was offering a reward however, with the dishonesty of the cleaner and possibly management; I would much rather share my experience from day one. |||| I never expected a discount or anything just expected to be treated with respect like how you guys treat elderly Caucasian folk and Caucasian boys. Maybe it’s because I’m a short Asian girl & they think I don’t look sick. I hope you guys know I felt discriminated by my race as well as my medical condition. Thankfully I just needed a place to stay while I waited for my flight home. Skip this place and spend some extra $$$ & book Hyatt or Doubletree if you want a clean place and better service! ||||Pic of...
Read moreI stayed on Sunday 12-23-18 until Tuesday 12-25-18.
On the first day before check in, found at least one of the front desk clerks to be quite rude to a member of my party while I had not yet arrived.
Finally got room #537 and found immediately that sofa had a lot of questionable stains, sofa pillows were peppered with chocolate like stains. Wanted to make coffee and maker was broken. Further inspection lead to ice build up in fridge, loose washers and screws that belonged to unknown items on floor.
By happenstance, I found under sofa, leftover garbage from a previous guest (although I found this out near the end of my stay).
I then tried to ring front desk from bedside phone and got an error code each time.
I then went and reported somf of the problems to front desk. First person came and attempted to change coffee pot. But due to design of shelving, could not do so. I then had another member of staff come and I explained further problems and he was going to offer me some restaurant cards, as well as a room switch. I had first suggested that I wanted to see the room first, before switching. And he agreed. I waited for about 20 minutes and I had to go to a prior engagement. I informed front desk of this and to NOT change anything. As I and two other members of my party had luggage in room. I was assured by front desk that I'd be fine.
I then returned around 10:30pm that night to a room key card that no longer worked. And so I went to front desk again and found I had been switched to #337. Since I was exhausted at that point, I simply asked clerk to switch things back as I did not want to deal with this at the moment.
From then, I found that somehow the coffee maker did get swapped, but nothing else was. Never did see this "restaurant card" that was suggested and nothing else was corrected.
Since the next day was another busy day, I simply did not move forward on anything, as I was already burnt out from this first night's experience.
And it seemed the longer I stayed in this hotel, I'd find a new problem. Such as the AC never working properly with its temperature controls. It was either hot, or cold. The middle temps never adjusted properly.
The best thing about this experience was the complimentary breakfast and staff were amazing. And the bed was satisfactory.
As a side note, having no vents for the bathrooms is not a wise move. As the TV and two beds are right in sight and guests can hear each other's...
Read moreI highly recommend the Springhill Suites (Airport) in San Jose, CA. The Springhill Marriott brand overall is a total winner in my opinion. It is competitively price, particularly for San Jose, and offers many amenities. For example, the hotel van to the airport was on time and the driver was friendly and helpful. The check-in late at night was quick and efficient. The staff was friendly, but not pushy fake friendly with a bunch of obnoxious laughs. The room was very stylish, updated with various amenities, and very focused on the needs of a business traveler. It is not spacious, but clearly serves the needs for a short 1-3 day stay or even longer. It would be cramped for a family, but perfect for a single traveler. Connection to the internet was quick and efficient without a lot of "agree to the terms" nonsense. Keyless entry to the room was a nice feature also. The floor was nice and only distraction was some ingrate who set his food tray in the hall like his was staying at an outdoor Motel 6. Little things also such as my bill being in an envelope rather than just pushed halfway under the door. A word about the staff. Friendly and accommodating to the point that the staff offered to provide complimentary van service to my business location downtown the next morning. As far as breakfast, good and basic, two distractions, one being multiple TVs on different channels blaring rather loudly whatever was the news of the day and of course, the 2 crying toddlers, but the mother was courteous enough to move. Most people want a rather quiet atmosphere at 6:30 am while downing some java and catching up on headlines. It would be nice if the USA Today rag was replaced with the WSJ, but that is pure preference. The dining was limited, but who eats at a majority of hotel restaurants anyway. There are other positives and very few, if any, negatives for the Springhill brand in particular and this hotel...
