Love this restaurant sometimes they have there off days.. today was one of those days…. Opened at 11 but when we arrived cleaners where still mopping floors . The cleaning lady greeted us with a smile. The manager looked upset when she seen us and quickly turned around and told the lady not to leave the door open next time because people can walk in..she waved her hand at the lady and said just hurry up! She turned then turned to us and said give me a min they are still cleaning. So we waited 5 min and then she sat us. Wonton strips where cold and not crunchy like they usually are. Salad was ok (I’m usually obsessed with the salad I can eat mine plus my daughters ) my food was good I ordered the Mongolian beef w/fried rice My grandma ordered a shrimp dish …… shrimp still had poop in its tail. We told the waiter and he just looked at it and mumbled something very low took the plate and walked away….very odd. A apology would of been nice. I think it’s safe to say Grandma isn’t going to want to eat here again.

Lunch specials are becoming harder and harder to find so when you find a place that not only has a lunch special but has it available 7 days a week (excluding holidays), it is worth a highlight! Mandarin Gourmet delivers with a 4 course lunch special that has a variety of entrée options. Entrées are served family style so the table can easily share dishes. The food comes quickly and the seating is comfortable (choice of booths or tables). The first course are some fried dough with a sweet red dipping sauce. Chinese chicken salad with a peanut dressing is usually served at the same time, followed by a hot and sour soup. Finally the entrée is served with a choice of steamed or fried rice. A fortune cookie rounds off the meal. On this visit, we had the Garlic Eggplant, Tangerine Beef and Honey Walnut Prawns. All were great!

I selected the Special A on the menu: it came with choice of soup, appetizers, and an entree. The appetizer was an egg roll, one fried shrimp, and soup was the Wonton soup. It was fulfilling but nothing spectacular. The shrimp had a pasty taste I didn't care for but the egg roll stole the show. It was crispy and delicious. For my entree: I had the Mandarian Chow Mein with a side of fried rice. It was good. Some of my noodles were burnt but it didn't take away from the flavor of it. They giving you large quantities of food. I ate 1/4 and had to get the rest to go. It was a decent meal for $30 bucks. I'll go again to try something different

Cockroach in drink cup! I cannot complain about the food. It was great. Higene on the other hand would be my main concern. My cousins came to visit and we wanted to eat at a Chinese restaurant, friends had recommended Mandarin Gourmet a few times.... First time in, everything went smooth. Fast service, we had our meal, once we are chatting and finishing our drinks my wife sees something in her glass of coke (it's a roach) common house roach. I pull it out of the cup and show it to the waiter... He immediately runs to the back, then comes out and starts saying that it's not true, that the roach "came from the soda machine that was cleaned yesterday a week ago because it was stuck inside"? HIS EXACT WORDS. I told him that it was impossible that the dispenser could of been cleaned if there was a roach stuck inside. I service restaurants for a living so I know. When he grabbed his glasses to look at the roach he still insisted on stating that it was not a roach and it was a leaf. After he admitted it was a roach he just walked away. No interest in how we felt or the situation. We proceeded to talk to the hostess and manager (front desk). And we just asked for our tip back since we did not like our waiters service. I do believe that the manager should of at least engaged a bit more in a conversation to figure out...

Better than expected, after reading the reviews. No big thrill or disappointment, but good basics. I have to wonder if the competition among Chinese restaurants in this area is leading to fake reviews.

Although there's room for improvement, the food was good, the hostess and server were polite, friendly, & efficient.

Our group of 7 were seated in a side room, and I was worried that we might be forgotten, but we were well taken care of and the quieter room was appreciated.

I thought it odd that the other large table in the room had a tablecloth and lazy susan in the middle, while ours was bare. The other table remained unoccupied, and as we arrived 45 min. before lunch closing (with reservation), I don't think they were expecting another large party. If you're not going to sit guests at the dressed table, I'd leave it bare too, as it feels a bit insulting to be seated at a bare table, when the dressed one is there.

The food was good, I especially like the Honey Walnut Prawns. Large plump prawns, not too sweet. The vegetable noodle dish was disappointing as the noodles were all little short pieces, but it was still...

Terrible food and terrible service. My husband and I came here for the first time after we saw the 4/5 stars review. If there was an option for negative stars I would choose that. The food beef brought out to us was raw, and there was no indication that the fried rice has peas or carrots in them on the menu, which my husband is allergic to. When we told the waiter, he reluctantly took back the food to get it done right. When the bill came we decided not to leave a tip since we were so poorly served and the hostess was rude to begin with. As we left politely , the waiter chased out after us saying that the $60 bill was not including tip and that he demanded that we tipped him. My husband and I were appalled by the demand. He was shouting at us in the middle of the parking lot saying that he would have taken what we didn't like off the bill. Mind you he had many opportunities to do so when he saw we barely touched the food because it was so disgusting. When my husband came back in to talk to the manager, she was rude and just said ok I'll talk to him later, and basically shooed my husband out the door....
