Dad was gonna go noodle place next door, but it was crowded so we went here. Normally, I dont eat pizza but when I peek in the window, they had these huge looking slices with tons of toppings on it. Im used to pizza having thicker crust ( which is why I avoid pizza..too much gluten) but the crust here is very thin. What I love is thin crust and tons of toppings. I lived in Ontario (Canada) for awhile in in Ontario pizza places hardly put toppings on their pizza. So when I saw Pizza Heart had tons of toppings, I said I got to try this place. Dad wanted a Salad...he told me to pick. They have salads ranging from 6, 7, 8 dollar salad to 9 dollars. I chose the most expensive salad ( Chicken & Walnut) it comes with lots of candy walnuts on side, Gorgonzola cheese ( I think it might have been blue cheese or I dont know the difference), Basalmic dressing, chicken and spring mix. It had tons of spring mix so I thought it was a nice full salad for only 9 dollars. And they have cheaper salads like Ceasar with Chicken for 8 dollars, Greek for 7 dollars I think and I think the cheapest salad is only 6 dollars? for just mixed veggies...im not sure if you get to choose your dressing for the others ( or its included inside the salad) but I saw Italian and Ranch in case you pick the dressings. So I thought Salad was good deal since you get alot of salad. Plus if you get the most expensive salad ( Chicken Walnut) for 9 dollars plus a slice of Pizza you get free medium drink. The pizza slices are from 5 dollars to 6 dollars ( plus 7 for most expensive slice of pizza) but most of the pizza slices look like only 5 dollars. I cant wait to get the bf to try this place since when we lived in Ontario he kept on going to one place that hardly gave him toppings. So I want him to try this place, he will be amazed at all the toppings ( either tons of pepperoni or tons of veggies) ...
Read moreWent in less than 5 minutes before closing, and was having a rough day up to that point. At that point I was half expecting to hear "sorry sir, were closed, we open tomorrow at 11:00 a.m." to be the greeting I received. But instead I heard, "hello sir, thanks for coming in, I'll be right over to take your order" happily spoken from a female employee from the far side of the pizza joint. The place was almost completely empty, (save for a father & son , deep in conversation, over a tray of crusts and fallen toppings). They had half dozen or so different types of topped slices of pizza still out on a tray behind the glass, and she asked "what will you have?" I replied, that I wasn't picky I'd be glad to have anyone at the slices I was very hungry. She laughed and insisted that I pick so I did. She handed me a soda and I waited for her to heat up the piece of pizza, pepperoni and garlic. I was offered pepper and cheese and given napkins given a warm have a good night. I opened the box as soon as I got outside and Wow! It came out great! It made my whole day so...
Read moreWe were there on a Sunday afternoon (June 18). We each ordered our pizza and took a seat near the counter and had a good view of the food preparation area. As we began to consume our pizza, we watched how the food was handled. The health department would have likely shut them down had they seen what we did. There were no gloves worn by any of the employees. Food was touched by hand (both uncooked and cooked food). Those same hands touched money, an employee combed through her hair with her bare hands and then immediately touched food, another scratched the backside of her shorts and then touched food, boxes were picked up and moved around and then that employee touched food (again with his bare hands) All of this with no in between hand washing. We saw an employee come onto shift after sitting at a table eating (no handwashing prior to starting). Another was drinking a beverage while moving about the food preparation area. We won't be back to this...
