Michaels — Local services in San Jose

Very disappointed with our experience at Michaels. We picked up several items from a display that had no signs or labels indicating they were clearance. After purchasing, we were told that these items are final sale and cannot be returned.

When we spoke to the manager, they said we should have known the items were clearance just because there was a small letter “C” next to the item name on the receipt. Seriously? How is a customer supposed to figure that out after paying?

To make things worse, the cashier didn’t say a word about the items being non-returnable. In other stores, we’ve always been clearly informed when something is final sale. That’s basic customer service. But here, there was no signage, no warning — nothing.

We left feeling frustrated and misled. This was our first time experiencing something like this at a major retail chain. Unfortunately, we won’t be shopping at...

Its a smaller store that is easy to navigate. They could keep it cleaner, but its not necessarily dirty or unorganized. The clearance items are all clearly labeled and there are multiple price checkers around the place.

The employees are nice, some more than others and when checking out, they have a habit of asking what you're making. If they dont know how to use something you're buying/what the item is, they'll ask. Today, i pulled out my phone to show the checker what all I've already made.

The line gets longer than it should, but coming here it seems like you get 1 on 1 treatment while at checkout so its not a huge complaint.

I called and spoke with Candace to make sure something was in stock before driving to the store. She looked the item up, went and found it and asked me how many I wanted. When I arrived at the store, they were waiting for me to check out. Pam checked me out and she was very kind, she organized all the items in my bag perfectly and wrapped my frames so they wouldn’t break on the way home.

The only disappointing thing, is quite a few of the shelves are bare. Maybe they are remodeling.
