Oh, where do I even start with Sixth Street Burger in San Jose? This place is like if a gourmet burger and unbelievable service had a love child. I dropped off my car for repair and my buddy wanted burgers which I normally do not want AT ALL. He drove so we rolled into this downtown gem and I was wrong and loved it so much I am still daydreaming about it like it's my high school crush. Let me tell you, this small business deserves a line out the door, a ticker-tape parade, and maybe even a Netflix special. Un-be-liev-able!!!
First off, the service? I'm pretty sure the staff here took a masterclass in "How to Make Everyone Feel Like a VIP." The entire crew was so over-the-top kind, I half-expected them to offer to knit me a sweater or help me file my taxes. They checked on us so many times with such genuine enthusiasm, I started wondering if they were planning to adopt us. It's the kind of place that LOVES what they do and they WANT (maybe even weirdly NEED!) you to love it too. And we did.
Now, let's talk about the food, because I'm still not over it. Me, a notorious burger skeptic who usually side-eyes anything involving a bun (just the meat, thank you!) caught the MANY Wagyu Smash Burger options. Friends, I'm a changed human. This burger was so juicy, so crispy-edged, so perfectly perfectly perfectly meaty, I was reading what to order the next time I came back. Jalapeño Wagyu? Bacon Wagyu? I'll be seeing you soon.
The Wagyu patty was like a love letter from a cow that lived its best life. Reinforces my belief that veganism will never be for me. I, the burger hater, am now a Wagyu Smash evangelist, preaching its gospel to anyone who'll listen. Get some.
Does it get better? Yes. Yes, it does. Their House Sauce. This sauce is so good, it could probably broker world peace. It's a delicious masterpiece that I seriously considered stealing but it was brought to us, explained to us, and I didn't want to steal something they obviously loved so much. It was a close call though. I told the staff they need to bottle this stuff and sell it. I'd slather it on toast, drizzle it on my cereal, maybe even use it as sunscreen. Sixth Street Burger, if you're reading this, please make this happen. I'll buy it by the gallon.
Oh, and they will have beers soon!!! Can't wait to rewrite this while I'm stuffed, happy, and a little buzzed.
This place isn't just a restaurant. It has a great vibe, feels like it can be community staple to be proud of, and their love for the product they serve is a reason to believe in humanity again.
San Jose, get your butts down to 6th Street Burger and support this treasure.
I'll be back when I pick up my car in a few days. This time I AM STEALING THE SAUCE after I finish my Jalapeño Wagyu burger or the Bacon Wagyu burger. Onion rings this time. Or maybe the Brussels Sprouts. With a milkshake this time. Or maybe a rootbeer float. Unless they have beer. Doesn't matter. Stealing the...
Read moreI absolutely love 6th Street Burger and am giving it a glowing 5-star review! From the moment we walked in, the place had such a warm, local, family-owned vibe. Owner Abram personally greeted us with a big smile and a warm welcome, making us feel right at home. The service was incredibly fast and friendly - our food practically jumped out of the kitchen and onto our table in record time!
Now let's talk about the food - it's amazing. Everything on the menu is built around their signature juicy smash burgers, and they did not disappoint. My burger had a perfect crispy crust with a tender, mouthwatering patty that literally melted in my mouth.
On top of that, we tried the limited-time Smash Burger Tacos (WOW). These tacos are juicy, flavorful smash burger wrapped in a soft tortilla - pure genius! They come with the special spicy 6th Street sauce that packs a nice kick and complements them perfectly.
We also have to talk about the beef tallow fries - they are amazing. These fries are golden and super crispy because they're fried in beef tallow, and they were seasoned just right. I seriously could not stop eating them! Every bite was savory and perfectly crunchy - the perfect side to our burgers and tacos.
Another awesome perk? 6th Street Burger just launched a happy hour from 2-5pm with some killer deals. It's the perfect time to swing by, especially if you want to try multiple items without breaking the bank. We stopped by during happy hour and scored great deals on a burger, fries, and even Marianne's milkshake - yes, Marianne's milkshake! We ended our meal with one of those creamy, dreamy shakes made from real Marianne's Ice Cream, and it was the perfect way to cap things off. Smooth, sweet, and so satisfying.
All in all, I can't recommend 6th Street Burger enough. Whether it's for a quick lunch or grabbing dinner during happy hour, this place really shines. Abram and his family have poured their heart into this joint and it shows - from the warm greeting and speedy service to the knock-out burgers, tacos, fries, and shakes. If you're in the mood for some of the best smash burgers in town, do yourself a favor and check out 6th Street Burger. You...

Sometimes the best dining experiences begin with social media curiosity, and 6th Street Burgers in downtown San Jose proved that Instagram hype can actually deliver on its promises. After watching a tantalizing video of their burgers online, I knew I had to make the 20 - mile drive to experience this local favorite firsthand.
My biggest concern was navigating downtown San Jose in a truck -parking in the area can be a nightmare. However, the universe seemed to align perfectly that day. Not only did we find a spot directly outside the restaurant, but a table opened up the moment we walked through the door. Sometimes luck just happens.
The menu immediately caught my attention with its carefully crafted selection, but the jalapeño wagyu smash burger called out to me so strongly that I didn't need to look any further. We rounded out our order with fries and onion rings, keeping things simple to let the main attraction shine.
What arrived was nothing short of spectacular. The wagyu patty delivered exceptional flavor with that distinctive richness you expect from premium beef. The jalapeños provided the perfect amount of heat - enough to add excitement without overwhelming the palate. The burger came perfectly assembled with sauces, fried onions, and pickles that complemented rather than masked the quality ingredients.
The sides proved equally impressive. Both the fries and onion rings were executed flawlessly, providing the ideal accompaniment to an outstanding burger. We savored every bite, taking our time to appreciate the careful preparation and quality ingredients.
The service matched the food quality - friendly staff who were genuinely enthusiastic about their product, and impressively quick turnaround from order to table. This attention to both hospitality and efficiency shows a team that takes pride in their work.
6th Street Burgers has earned a devoted fan. My only dilemma for future visits will be whether to stick with the phenomenal jalapeño wagyu smash burger or venture into other menu territories. Either way, that drive to downtown San Jose will definitely...
