This restaurant is a new restaurant that was the location for old flames restaurant for sjsu students It was a staple of the institution. This was my first time going to this restaurant I ordered combination rice which was only 10.75 which I consider a good deal. However, ordering online is simple enough but when you go into the restaurant there's no clear location of who to check in with to get your food you try to ask someone for help they ignore you. Definitely no clear communication between staff. The location is clean I did not check the bathrooms. There is parking above the restaurant that you have to pay for and there are meter parking around the restaurant. Now for the food paying $10 for some rice I wasn't expecting much but I believe I counted four to five pieces of protein in the rice The rest is all rice hard carrots and peas. The flavor when you do get a piece of protein with the rice it tastes really good The rice by itself is very bland and lacking flavor. I will not be going back to this restaurant I thought being a local to San Jose It could be the next best thing but that isn't the case. Perhaps some of their other dishes or more delicious than the rice. They have signs that say it's a soft opening so I'm hoping with the little correction this could be a really good restaurant for...
Read moreOh how the mighty have fallen... The humble abode which we used to call Home... Eat has been consumed by capitalist greed. My compatriots and I stepped forth on a fateful Wednesday evening to encapsulate ourselves with the ambiance of good food and authentic Chinese cuisine. We were met with an exorbitant increase in prices on each and every single itemized item on the paper containing items known as a menu. Oh, how the ensembles of chaos have enslaved our tiny experience, The inflation looming over our head like a guillotine. In the great days of old we relished in overconsumption but far gone are those days as now we relish in debt. The monetary value of the orange chicken, a famed and esteemed menu item increased from 975 to 1475, A genuine crime against all good people on this Earth. Furthermore, the removal of key items exacerbated these issues leaving us in a depressive melancholic State seeking more, and paying more. The removal of the numbing cabbage numbed our emotions as we adamantly left this establishment bringing our business elsewhere. Food is still...
Read moreThe service at this restaurant was impressively quick--we were seated immediately upon arrival. It was about 3-330pm so there were only few groups of people present. The place was clean, quiet bg music and not a lot of noise. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food exceeded my expectations; it was well-prepared, neither greasy nor oily, and perfectly balanced.
The portion sizes are generous, so l'd recommend ordering with that in mind--we ended up taking home four to-go boxes fully packed! Given its location near the university, this place offers an excellent value for the price.
Their menu is extensive so be prepared. I was so hungry l didn't take pictures of all the food that was laid out. These are my recommendations, scallion pancake, string beans and eggplants with soy sauce, chicken explosive chilly pepper, fried chicken wings with spicy pepper sauce, achoy with garlic, and beef chowfun. I wasn't particularly fond of their orange chicken and cashew shrimp as I don't like sweet and...
