The people working there were extremely nice but what I wish I knew before ordering is that you always should order with ice and that they add too much ice.
I ordered the Lychee Tea Large (as seen by my cup) and asked for No Ice. They basically only filled it halfway which is the size of the Small cup. They still gave me the Large Cup because they assumed I would add ice to it later. The staff said it was super sweet so I asked for 50% sugar and it was still too sweet because it was clearly meant to have ice added to it. I wish that it was more clear that it was more of a syrup than a refresher tea. We also ordered the VIP which was pretty good but again, a lot of ice. The photo shown was the drink after not being able to get anything out of the straw anymore because it was still full of ice. All the coffee is sold iced so can’t ask for anything hot. The staff told me that the closest they can do is the Creamy Ha Noi because with no ice, it would be lukewarm. So I ordered it, but turns out it was a traditional macchiato style drink without the ice. But they didn’t have a proper shot cup so it was basically the espresso and the toppings stuck to the bottom of a plastic 12 oz cup. We ended up asking for ice and water to be able to drink it. Don’t have the picture for that for that unfortunately!
It would have been nice for them to have told me more about the drink (or have that information on the menu) for the Lychee drink and the Creamy Ha Noi when I was ordering. But either way, they put a lot of ice in the drinks. Also the acoustics of the place amplify the sound so it’s a bit loud in the “echoing” kind of way. Plenty of seating and...
Read moreOne sunny afternoon in San Jose, I found myself wandering through the lively and bustling Vietnam Town when I stumbled upon Tram 2, a quaint Vietnamese café renowned amongst locals for its authentic flavors. Intrigued by the vibrant atmosphere and the clinking sounds of glasses punctuating harmonious conversations, I decided to step inside. The decor was a tasteful blend of traditional Vietnamese aesthetics and modern chic, inviting and warm, making me feel instantly at ease. However, little did I know that the most exhilarating aspect of my visit was yet to come - the moment I took a sip of their infamous cà phê. The rich aroma swirled in the air as the well-dressed barista skillfully prepared my order, building up an anticipation that almost had me giddy.
That first sip of cà phê was like a jolt to my senses, far surpassing any coffee experience I had encountered before. Its flavor was intense and almost electrifying, cutting through any preconceived notions of a simple caffeine fix. The strong, dark blend was in perfect harmony with the sweetened condensed milk at the bottom of the glass, resulting in a creamy, robust elixir that was both a delightful treat and an invigorating punch. It was as if the essence of Vietnam itself had been distilled into this one cup, encapsulating years of tradition and meticulous craftsmanship. The strength of the cà phê was not just in its potent caffeine content, but in the depth and complexity of its flavors, leaving an indelible mark on my palate and ensuring that Tram 2 would remain a treasured memory of my exploration in...
Read moreVery crowded so I thought I would stop in to grab a drink. My brother got the egg cocoa which was literally all ice. Like if you got a snow cone with chocolate syrup and egg topping. We waited 10 minutes for it to melt and it wasn't that great for the price we paid. I got the salted coffee but for whatever reason it tasted like alcohol. The topping was creamy and good but layered. I shook my cup in an attempt to mix it and it cracked open and stained my jacket. I understand its a different style of coffee so I waited for it to melt. It was all huge chunks of ice and within 3 sips I had to wait another 10 minutes to get just one sip because the ice was such huge chunks. It was good but a strange after taste.
Server was nice, they have quite a few options. Had the drink ready quickly. Plastic cups are too thin for how much ice is in there. Priced too high for what we got.
Overall if you want to try it and you have extra money I would do it just for the egg cream, but I would...
