Pho An Hoa Noodle House 14391 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94578
We visited Pho An Hoa Noodle House for dinner, trusting that a restaurant with “Pho” in its name would offer good pho. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The brisket in the pho was extremely tough and hard to chew, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. This wasn’t our first encounter with this issue; it happened during our previous visit as well. At that time, we mentioned it to the staff, and they attributed the problem to the way the brisket was cut.
Despite this, we decided to give the restaurant another chance a few months later, hoping for a better experience. Sadly, the brisket was still just as bad. Additionally, the tap water tasted like tap water, which didn’t help improve the overall experience. The quality of both the water and the pho was mediocre at best.
On a positive note, the customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience pleasant in that regard. However, I cannot recommend the pho here.
I would suggest trying something else on the menu if you decide to visit. Personally, I haven’t tried any other dishes here, but based on my experience with the pho, I would avoid it.
We might return in a few months to try different items on the menu, but we will not be ordering...

Tried a couple dishes here recently Highlights were: Crispy Chicken over Garlic Noodles pretty good take on it Spring rolls were good
Not so good: I tried a stirfry type dish over flat noodles that I wish I could have had over rice or garlic noodles.

It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues. Also have a link on my profile page to my newly created gram.
Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role. Just because a steak is $75 doesn't make it a 4 or 5 star venue nor does a $1 taco unless it's delicious.
5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 %...
Read moreVery bad serving attitude from the mid aged waiter! I had a party of 7 for lunch. The restaurant was crowd. I wrote my name on the waiting list. I saw a long table of 8 seats with only a couple at the end. So I politely asked the couple whether they might move to another vacant table. They agreed. I also told another waiter on it and he agreed. I sat at the table for 8 people with 6 friends arrived. The mid aged waiter had a grumpy face and did not like what I did. The mid aged waiter asked us to move to another table. When we left our table, we noticed that the table was made with two small tables which normally seated 4 people. Very upset with the arrangement! Another waiter serving the food also wondered why 7 people were squeezed at the two small tables. There was another table with 8 seats available but the mid aged waiter assigned 4 people to sit there but not us. Obviously, he didn't like us! It was my friend's birthday and we didn't want to make it awkward. But I will not go there again! By the way, mid aged waiter, if you see this message, I am sorry that I did something different from your plan / system! Your two small tables gave us an opportunity to be close to each...
