Came downtown to check this place out last night (12/27/22). First thing I'll say is that I had a good time with a couple buddies and we'll probably be back. We've wanted something like this in the area for a long time, so it's hard not to want to see it grow and stick around.
There may be plans for this in the future, but I think overall more cabinets would be beneficial. Half the space is empty, and it almost feels unfinished. That may very well be the case. It doesn't mean that we didn't have fun.
There were only a couple machines down, which is to be expected from any arcade, to be fair. I personally would like to see more variety. Newer fighting games would be a nice touch. Rhythm games are always a hit I feel like. More multiplayer games like Killer Queen, and spread out the cabinets just a hair to make more room for the multiplayer games you do have. I'm hopeful for this place to succeed, and I undoubtably will be back.
Some of my favorite aspects are the high score leaderboard above the bar, and the arcade cabinet theme of the bar itself. I tried for a while to break one of the records and realized that I'm actually not that good haha.
Lastly, please find a way to serve cold water. As DD I asked for a water and was given literally warm tap water. Tap water isn't that big of a deal; I drink it at home and many restaurants just serve tap water. But at least it has ice. Also, having permanent cup holders on the cabinet would be a nice touch, as it was kind of awkward to carry around the wobbly...
Read moreIs an arcade really an arcade, even a retro arcade, if it doesnt have dance dance revolution? Not even marvel vs capcom. Layout seemed even a bit lazy. I didnt spend very much time here.
Edit: thanks for getting back to me mr owner. Glad your getting a ddr machine and glad to hear you actually have mvc. Im from out of town, so i look forward to checking your place out next time i come. For clarity, when i mentioned that the layout is lazy, i feel that because cabinet games have a narrow play space and part of your demographic reach are nostalgic adults who are just bigger. By simply lining up cabinets side by side, its harder to feature certain games and honestly, if someone is playing a machine, you probably dont have much room to play next to them comfortably. While your current set up probably increases floor room and decreases chances of wire hazards, i feel that if you clusted cabinets at 3 or 4 clusters, rather than in a L shape, you would be able to better highlight certain better selling games, increase playing room, and organize game genres accordingly. You certainly have the room for it. If i recall correctly, the space allowed for the table hockey and between the seating area and the games felt...
Read moreStaff didn't even know what beers they had on tap, one of the bartenders told me that the WildFields Brewing tap was mead which I promise you it is not. I went up to cash out my tab and I was told I had to go back to the same bartender I got the drink from in the first place but they were nowhere to be found so I just sort of stood there until somebody could figure it out. How hard is it to charge a card?
There are a lot of kinks that need to be worked out but this was such a bad experience, even if they do figure it out, I won't be coming back. Beyond the inexperienced and, frankly, rude staff, the music was terrible, as well as the decor. The token machine just spit the tokens onto the floor, I had to watch as just about every person needing tokens had to chase them across the floor. No ATM so if you want cash you need to use your debit card at the bar but good luck if they are already holding your card because you need to remember to go back to the bartender that helped you in the first place.
Just don't go, it's definitely...
