I came to this location tonight and went through the drive thru. We were charged for the customers order who was behind us. The guy who rang us up apologized and had Sara void the transaction. They didn't provide us with a slip at that moment showing us the refund. I asked why not? And she came to the window and raised her voice at us as she was explaining what she had to do. Yelling and behaving as if she was being inconvenienced by us. Crazy! Since we were the customers whose credit card was charged the wrong amount. I just wanted to have proof that the refund went through correctly. Every store I've been to has been able to provide to me such a receipt at the moment that it was processed. We parked in the front of the store like she said so that she could then charge the correct customer that dollar amount AND then be able to give me a receipt. She came out and shoved the slip in my hand and while walking back saying "there! It's taken care of" very unprofessional and just plain rude since we again were the ones who didn't do anything wrong and we in fact were inconvenienced. Sara is a sorry excuse for a manager. The owner needs to rethink who he/she puts into that position because that is a very important one. Rather than putting out the fire she added wood to it. Everything about Sara is wrong. Her personality, her presentation, her demeanor, and her speech. We live near by and frequent this location often and I am still in shock at how poorly this "Manager Sara" handled herself with us. We called the corporate office in lake forest and filed a formal complaint with them. Just putting it out there. Sara is awful! Now I'm just hoping that she processed the refund correctly because it read as an over payment on the slip she gave me and my account still shows the amount debited and another pending trx of 0.00 is showing. Fingers crossed that when that posts tomorrow it will show the amount credited to the account otherwise I'm going to have to go back in and talk...
Read moreDel taco. San Marcos, CA... hire some employees! But also make sure they are adults or act like it. Talking about the late night drive thru. It's awful!! 3 cars took 45 minutes to get thru and the employee tells us he has to do the window and make the food! I don't think the daytime shift has these issues but the night shift is not good.
Update: 5/14/22.... went at 10:30pm and got to the drive thru and no lights on the board but we could see it. Says they are open till midnight. No one took our order and we Waited and drove to the window and they clearly were open but we could not see the staff in there which was a little concerning. So we drove to the back of the building to leave and there were 2 employees outside just shooting the breeze.. We asked them if there was someone inside to take our order And they said that they would take our order in 10 minutes when the 2 of them got off of break. This is crazy because they are open but they're going to make us wait 10 minutes till they get back from break. I asked them why they don't stagger their brakes and that this is not good business for them and they didn't care and just laughed. No customer service and definitely no service at all
10/8/22... wow, entered the drive thru 20 minutes ago and still waiting for food. At window and paid but waiting for change of$ .71. One guy in the place taking orders, taking money and making food!! 10 minutes at the window (my husband watched the timer for the driver thru) in addition to the 20 minutes in drive thru. Only 3 cars in drive thru. When we left there was a line of cars 8 deep, they'll be there for hours. Always takes long here but this is ridiculous!! Get it together Del Taco. We'll go somewhere else next time. My one chicken taco had chicken but nothing else basically and that's not what they advertise...
Read moreMy family and I absolutely LOVE Del Taco. We lived near this one for 4 years and we went as a family for dinner every Tuesday for the entire time we lived there. Then we had to move because my dad is in the military. My four siblings and I have so many childhood memories at that specific Del Taco. And today, after 5 years and two moves, we have come back to California on vacation and we got to visit our favorite Del Taco again. It was magical for our family. Everything was nearly identical to how it used to be back in 2019 when we last were here. We all were so excited. We love Del Taco and are so sad there are none in the East Coast where we have lived the past few years and where we will live still when we move to the New England area. Thank you Del Taco for giving us so many wonderful family memories and remaining the same so we could once again enjoy the simpleness of an affordable and memorable family dinner. On behalf of my entire family we could not have been more satisfied with our experience and recommend Del Taco (specifically this one in San Marcos, as we are partial to it) to all.
P. S. Please put a Del Taco close to Newport,...
