I would like to say that I am an honest reviewer, you can look at my profile I review all places and restaurants with fairness. When my husband and I arrived to Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant they asked what we wanted to drink. My husband wanted at michelada and I wanted an agua fresca. We got a sorry we have no michelada mix and we don’t have aguas frescas. I was shocked at a Mexican restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Well we looked past that. We were ready to order food my husband ordered a mixed fajita plate and I ordered a veggie fajitas plate. Server comes back sorry we can’t make the veggie fajitas were out of bell pepper. I asked can you make it without bell pepper just all the other veggies comes back sorry no the plate is mainly bell peppers. I asked the server well what do you recommend I eat vegetarian. She said we can make you potato tacos, I said ok fine 2 ranchera potato tacos and a side of beans. 15 minutes passed my husband’s plate arrives and I just get beans. Server comes sorry we can’t make ranchera potato tacos. Seriously my mouth dropped I couldn’t believe it. I said fine just bring me 1 potato a la mexicana taco. Then my husband start eating his plate of food goes in for the rice first spoonful a long blonde toned hair. Picked at the rice some more and more hairs were in there. I just couldn’t believe it. One bad thing after another at this restaurant. Also this place was busy people were waiting outside for a table I seriously don’t understand how. The server brought back the manager I told her everything that we went through since the beginning and told her we wanted our bill and to leave. All we ate were the chips and drinks. I still left the server a $15 tip for a $12 bill. It wasn’t the servers fault and I thought I was more than fair. I will never come back and recommend that nobody else eats here either.

Garcia’s in San Marcos, Texas, delivers an unforgettable dining experience with bold flavors and hometown charm. From the moment you're seated, the fresh, crispy chips and flavorful salsa set the tone perfectly spiced and addictive enough to ask for seconds before your meal even arrives. The real standout for me was the combination quesadilla. Stuffed with tender meat, gooey cheese, and grilled to golden perfection, every bite was satisfying and full of flavor. Paired with a cold, sweet tea perfectly brewed and not overly sugary it made for a refreshing balance to the savory dish. Garcia’s nails the essentials of great Tex-Mex with quality ingredients, fast service, and a welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to every time you’re in town.

I will do a full rating of everything I ate! Chips and salsa- the chips were SO good and the salsa had the best perfect amount of flavor and spice. Chicken cilantro enchilada: it was good. I just didn’t really like the really creamy sauce just because I’m not used to it, but very good flavor. Sweet tea: good. I think it tasted like dirt. Like the water they used tasted like dirt idk, but it’s don’t really think that’s their fault. 😭 Rice and charro beans: the rice was delicious and they beans taste just like the ones my mom makes! (So, amazing) Crispy beef taco: so good and really fresh. The service was really good. We got our food less than 10 minutes after ordering. When it came out that early i was like “dang that was fast.” Really nice environment and great food.

I usually don't do this, and seeing as how I work in service industry I tend to be pretty understanding when it comes to small issues or mistakes. But this was just, well, a bit too much... We called in advance with a party of 14 to make sure they could accommodate us, and over the phone we were told that would be no problem, that we'd just have about a 20 minute wait. We arrive and wait a bit longer than that, no big deal. But when they go to seat us, they informed us that we all needed to be split up according to checks..so our entire party had to sit at multiple different tables, not together. All of our other tables were done with their food by the time we even got ours, half of which was missing. When my friend asked if they were still bringing orders out, the server acted confused and instead of addressing the issue, just dropped our checks off while we were still waiting on the rest of the food and had barely started to eat what we did had. I had planned to order more drinks and dessert if available, but wasn't even given the option. Afterwards, the server pretty much ignored the table. Again, I get small mistakes and normally don't even get ruffled enough to bother writing a review, but after having to all sit apart (after calling ahead and being told it wouldn't be an issue), taking forever to get our food only to have entire meals missing and half plates delivered, checks dropped without even asking if we'd like to order anything else (oh, and still charging for the food they never brought and acted like we never actually ordered), it was just a bit too much to not bring up when Google asked me. Lol. So, yeah, anyone who's in the area, I'd recommend trying Chuy's or another spot for sure. The food wasn't even great. Well, the chips were, but the rest was pretty mediocre. Especially considering the service, or lack thereof. There's better food for better prices- and way better service-...

Well, the last trip we made to Garcia's was not a pleasant one. The wait was not too bad considering Covid restrictions. However, once we were seated it just went down hill. Fortunately for the waitress, but unfortunately for the customers, I can't remember her name. She was blonde and a little on the shorter side, but I'm 5'9 so many other females are short to me. Anyways, we were seated and the "bus person," Isabella, took our drink order. It then took forever for the waitress to come to the table. She never did tell us to scan the QR code for the menu or anything. When we finally got chips, we asked for a second bowl of salsa so four of us didn't have to share the one small bowl. Well, we never got the second bowl. She finally came to take our order and my husband wanted the fajitas. It was informed that they had RUN OUT OF FLOUR TORTILLAS... Not sure how this is possible for a mexican restaurant, especially when there are stores around that the ingredients or just flat out buy more can be purchased. So, we order our food and again wait a good amount of time to get it. During the wait time, my husband needed water and the waitress never offered a refill or even payed any attention to us at all. When we finally got our food it was subpar. This is uncommon for this establishment and we were disappointed. As the meal went on, we were still almost ignored and treated like we were not as important as the two other tables our waitress was waiting on. My husband went almost his entire meal without water. He had to ask someone else to refill his water twice. If this restaurant didn't have such a good reputation, we wouldn't be going back. However, we will give it another try and if it's not any better, we'll be...
