As always my wife and I were driving around looking for a place to eat. Many other places here in San Marcos have some delicious whole in the walls. After picking up my SNL I asked both of them what they like to eat. We could not decide on where exactly we wanted to go or what our taste buds wanted to enjoy. Upon arriving at Joe's Cafe we were greeted with a welcome :-) and a weld oil team that worked perfectly among each other. My wife ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich and it came with sweet potato fries (the sweet potato fries were delicious here. if I have to say so myself) and a cup of coffee which will not disappoint anybody if you're a coffee lover. I had the pancake breakfast with over medium eggs and a cup of coffee, my sister-in-law just had a drink a Pinocchio latte I think anywho while I was eating nothing else mattered. Just so the review world would know I do not usually get five stars unless I have been impressed by the food I am a self-proclaimed chef myself and I give this place two thumbs up if I was Roger than Ebert. I know anybody who chooses to eat here will enjoy it. Thank you Liz and Sarah for making us feel at home. Props to your team and everyone who made my simple breakfast and my wife's breakfast I know you made it with care and love. Keep up the good work. Sincerely Straight Out of...

Got a regular coffee, it was cold and so weak it just tasted like dirty water.
They sent me on a goose chase to find sweetener packets—one employee told me that they had sweetener “somewhere” and insisted on it after I couldn’t find it (instead of helping me find it…) while a different employee informed me that they don’t actually have sweetener at all.
I asked them to at least warm the coffee up, and the employee proceeded to take a drink of my coffee and tell me it was “hot enough”. I was flabbergasted. I told them to warm it up anyways. They then put the styrofoam cup in a microwave. A styrofoam cup!! Words fail to adequately describe what an obscene sequence of events that was.
Obviously I wasn’t going to drink a cup of hot, melted plastic so I just left because I was just too shocked to do anything else. I was so shocked I forgot to ask them for a refund, and regret initially giving them a 3$ tip for simply pouring me a cup of coffee.
The experience was absolutely incredible, they somehow managed to do every possible thing you could do wrong. Frankly, I was impressed. I don’t know how any of these kids have a job or why the owner couldn’t hire anyone else, it’s amazing to me. I feel like I literally paid money to have my...
Read moreToday is Easter Sunday and so thankful for this little cafe being open. Went horse back riding in the morning and we were so eager to eat and searched up a place to grab a quick bite. Walked in to a cute little cafe with artwork and self service type beat. Ordered a hazelnut irish cream iced coffee and i highly recommend the coffee, it’s delicious. We ordered the pancake platter (2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 3 pancakes), it was okay. The pancakes had no flavor and the texture was okay. We had to drench the pancakes in maple syrup, butter, cinnamon and salt and it was still not good enough. If i have to add all of this to pancakes it’s not a good stack. Eggs and bacon were very average. We also got the breakfast burrito with bacon, hash browns, eggs and spinach. Also very average. For all of this food it was around $26 which is very cheap honestly, so for the price of the food i’d say it was worth it but for taste wise not good enough for me. i definitely won’t be back for the food but a cute shop...
