We had the popcorn shrimp plate, hot Cheeto boudin balls, and the daily special which was: red beans and rice with sausage, baked chicken, and cornbread.

My wife and I are trying our hardest to think of a better meal we’ve ever had in our entire lives…

The shrimp and fries were fantastic. Fantastic. the hot Cheeto boudin balls, unlike anything I’ve ever had. Fantastic. Amazing. The cornbread, so soft, so heavenly. Red beans and rice, like dude. Duuuuuuude. And the baked chicken, this was the single greatest thing I’ve ever eaten.

Not sure what kind of magic is happening in the kitchen, but I know we’ll be back.

I had the fish plate from Journet’s Kitchen with rice dressing and yams, and honestly… it might’ve been the best meal I’ve ever had. The fish was seasoned just right and fried to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside. The rice dressing was packed with flavor, comforting and savory, like something your grandma would make with love. And the yams? Sweet, buttery, and smooth, with that cinnamon finish that made them feel like a warm hug from grandma. Everything on the plate just hit.

Oh man, Just had the Combo fish and shrimp plate. Fantastic! The fish fillet was large and perfectly prepared.

The roux used for the gumbo is amazing

That voodoo sauce should be sold in bottles. So good.
