We stopped here before school shopping. We eat simply at home with high protein and low carbs so after looking at the menu, we thought this place would be perfect. Upon entering, what I loved seeing is every employee was working either cleaning, making sure items were in their places, or asking each customer if they needed anything. Being a Hawaiian restaurant in Texas, you never know what you’ll get. They’re usually overdone with palm trees, surfboards, and anything else you’d imagine being done at a theme park. What you get here instead is a cleaner atmosphere. Though simple inside, it’s inviting and makes you feel comfortable. There’s a long wooden table in the middle for big parties and tables everywhere else. There’s even a little bar and nook type area if you need to be alone. There’s several kiosks to order at if you need time to read through everything and they also have someone in the front to take your order. The drinks are pretty cool too. Two options for tea: sweet and unsweetened. There’s also two juices: hibiscus and melon. I’m not a fan of the melon as it sort of tastes like bubble gum but mixing it with tea made it really good. Along with that, you get options of sodas and water. Bonus: Sonic ice. Your food comes out very hot. The meat is very tender to the point it nearly falls apart in your mouth. You get options of regular meals or spicy. All flavorful. What’s nice are the helpful employees. I can tell the manager is doing a great job just by how the employees are working. They look like they enjoy being there. One was mopping the floor of shoe marks, another wiping down tables, and we were asked periodically if we needed anything at all and how our food was. The manager also went around making sure customers were happy. As we ate, we began noticing a long line of customers at the drive thru as the evening approached on a Sunday. Everyone seemed to have the same idea which was to end the day right with some good food.
Don’t forget to get your pineapple soft serve. Yes, it’s just as good if not better than what everyone raves about at Disney. We...
Read moreEvery since the Hawaiian Food truck drove off into the sunset many years ago, San Martians have been deprived of the joy that is Hawaiian Food. Hawaiian Brothers has just opened and fills that need well. They feature traditional Hawaiian lunch plates, and the result is delicious! My favorite is the Kalua Pig. This is pork perfection that is cooked for hours. I'm not Hawaiian, but this food tasted just like the food I had while visiting the islands, that the locals ate. One bite and you will be hooked. The Spam Musubi, is also a delight. It's basically a Spam Sushi. Their mainstay is all the different types of Teriyaki Chicken they serve. It's all fantastic as well. Don't forget to try the Dole Whip pineapple soft serve before you leave. This is the same thing that is served at the Disney Parks, and makes a refreshing treat.
The ambience and mood is great inside as well. Soft Hawaiian Contemporary tunes as well as Reggae, are piped over the speakers, and makes a relaxing place to just chill. The staff is super friendly, the manager Misty was very friendly and helpful and spreads the Aloha Spirit very well. They offer curbside as well, if you don't want to eat in. In fact, the meal is perfect for that. The Lunch plate, with it's scoop of rice, Mac salad, and your choice of meat will satisfy your hunger. My only complaint is, sometimes they are out of certain things. This was more of an issue at other locations, and especially during the opening. The prices range from $8-10 a plate. It's worth...
Read moreAloha Hawaiian bros ....it was a definite pleasure trying this place out. I was in town just for a visit, and we wanted something different from regular Tex-Mex food. Hawaiian bros is it!
Honestly I didn't know anything about this place...so I had to have an open mind to all the flavors here. I love sweet and spicy mixes...so the Molokai chicken was my go-to choice here. I went with the rice and macaroni salad as my sides as well.
The location of course has a fast food feel and it was packed! There were no seats when we arrived, speaks well of the place. Mind you it was 4 of us so we had to wait for a table to open up. Customer service was top notch...the cashier apologized for the wait and explained the menu clearly.
When the food arrived...it was well served for the price you pay. The chicken was well sauced, tender, and quite flavorful. It pairs perfectly with the white rice...and is surely going to whet that appetite.
The one flavor which wasn't up my alley was the macaroni salad. It was tangy...and seemed a little oily. I'm not familiar with the flavors so I won't knock it...but maybe choose a different side next time.
And don't forget...get yourself a Dole! It was refreshing, not too sweet, had some tang, and was the cherry on top to finish my experience.
If you're ever passing by San Marcos, stop by and say Aloha Hawaiian...
