The food here is good. Won't deny that. And it's not a bad price for what you get.
Unfortunately, I've stopped going to this establishment and here's why
One time I arrived and the chips and salsa seemed a little off. There weren't many chips in the basket and the salsa didn't look like it was just poured. No worries, not every batch is perfect right? At least that's what I thought until I dug in to find a soggy chip already in the salsa.
I understand trying to save money, but giving a customer the leftovers from another table doesn't seem sanitary.
Another time the salsa had hair in it. When I approached the owner, he laughed and jokingly asked the bus boy (who was bald) if it was his. When I asked for a fresh batch, he seemed annoyed.
Usually I get water when I eat out. It's free and I actually like it. There were a couple of times where I went to pay and the owner asked if I had a drink and when I replied that I had water, he jokingly asked if "but did you have ice?". I doubt he'd ever charge anyone for ice, but the joke felt distasteful.
With these things in mind, it just made me wonder what other corners were cut in order to save money and I decided it wasn't a good idea to continue to come. Too bad though, because that XL enchilada was...
Read moreWould not recommend anyone to go here. Price was too expensive for the quality we got. To start off, there’s only ONE waitress and she took long to even acknowledge us because she was serving other tables. We ordered an horchata and the cup it came in was small. Normally other restaurants give you a decent sized cup since there’s no refills… Then we ordered two XL burritos and the tortilla on one of them was charred and burnt, you could tell they just tore off the giant piece that was black from being burnt. Which by the way also caused the whole tiny restaurant to fill up with smoke. There was hardly any bacon in the xl burrito, so there was more beans than anything else. The Gordita plate was highly underwhelming, to be honest I could’ve made something better at home. It looked like they just opened a bag of pork rinds put it on a plate and threw a little salsa on it. And the cherry on top was that the waitress NEVER returned to our table to check up on us. We needed napkins and refills on our drinks and we had to get up and ask the cashier for these things. Waste of money and left smellling like burnt...
Read moreThe online menu is not up to date. I went to order a carne guasada plate and was informed the menu had changed 2 weeks prior. I was told either the pastor or the steak would be close to the same (I knew it wouldn't but I decided to give it a try since the lady working was very nice). When we got home I realized they forgot our green salsa, our tortillas were barely cooked and small, the rice and beans were bland, and my plate was missing my limon. I ended up getting pastor and obviously it was nothing like the carne guasada. It was super dry and had little to no flavor the only slight flavor I could taste was a hint of limon. My boyfriend ordered a barbacoa plate and it was NOT that. It had pastor written first on top then scratched out, possibly hoping we wouldn't notice that it was not at all what he ordered??? What a waste of money. Their prices used to be so amazing and the food used to be something special, but now it's just over priced white washed Mexican food just like every other...
