By far the best coffee in town. Best roaster too, but I wish the bags were 12oz instead of 10oz. :/ amazing espresso and pourover, make sure to try their Honey Processed Honduran coffee on pourover, it's amazing. As someone getting into home roasting, they've been helpful and supportive, and really have a passion for their craft. It's also a great place to spend some time chatting or working, with a great atmosphere and art gallery outside. It's a little out of town, and it would be nice if they were open on Mondays or until 2, but DO NOT miss it. Also the name vaguely suggests it's a coffee shop, and everyone I've told about it thought it was a restaurant or art gallery. Prices are high, but worth it for the quality. If extra shots of espresso were a lil' cheaper I'd be here everyday. I've never had a decaf I've liked as much as theirs, even though it did have a tad much acidity for me when I had it in a double shot...
Read moreThis has earned the #1 coffee shop place in my heart. I enjoy going to coffee shops to get some work done and enjoy the company of strangers who are also working. Fairview perfectly encapsulates the best qualities and experience of what makes coffee shops great. The music is always good and at a reasonable volume, it’s bright and fresh inside, and there’s plenty of seating options. On top of the baseline great qualities, I also feel good about spending money here. The owner has admirable guiding values and reflects that in the way she runs the store. She prepares nutritious, healthy food, uses compostable cups and cutlery, offers “for here” reusable cups, has ethically sourced coffee, and a community bulletin board. On top of the great coffee and atmosphere, it’s a place you can feel good about being...
Read moreI'm definitely a coffee snob. I love coffee. Great coffee is what I seek out anytime I'm in a new city. Last week, my girlfriend and I woke up in Austin wanting to go check out San Marcos. We searched a few coffee spots, and decided on one. Not gonna mention which place, but it was not up to our liking. Disappointed, we were about to leave San Marcos and head back to Austin. I did one final search and stumbled upon Fairview. I got the vibe this place might be up to our liking. Long story short, it was incredible. This is not only the best coffee in San Marcos, bar none, this is some of the best coffee I've had in Texas. Hats off to John and everyone at Fairview for making some incredible coffee. If you're a coffee fanatic like me, this should be at the top...
