My PC was stuck in a loop of crashing anytime I left the Motherboard boot menu, occasionally it would let me in Windows 10 but only for a minute or 2 before crashing again. I did everything I knew how to do personally but eventually I brought it to these guys because nothing was working. After dropping off I got a call back in a couple days saying "We booted from our SSD and it was fine so we can sell you a new drive with windows 10 back on it and you'll be set for right about $150.00" I was pretty stoked so I went with a smaller SSD because I do most of my adobe files in the cloud or on my external HD. Picked up my PC, got home, began installing my search engines and... my computer crashed, same as before and got back into the loop of crashing before my OS would boot.
Called these guys back and let them know and they said "Sorry about that, bring it back in and we'll have it done by tonight or at least by tomorrow" Took it back in, no call that night, and no call the next day. So I called in day 3 and asked for a status update to which I was told "Oh yeah it's ready we re-installed the OS, next time you boot don't plug in your external HD until you've installed everything you're going to use." So I went and picked it up, brought it home, booted it up and went to change my resolution settings and was alerted that my copy of windows was not genuine, upon some settings probing I discovered that I was on windows pro but I only had a key for Windows home. I began downloading windows home and (suspenseful pause) my PC crashed, and I was back in my OS error loop once again.
I called back and explained and got my first round of sincere sounding apologies and the "bring it back in and we'll have a look, sorry about this man." Back to the shop I take my box and this time I'm told my PC is "Number one priority" ...couple days later I get a call that "Everything booted fine with my graphics card unplugged, we'll get a new one since yours was old and install it at the price of the part only." So I now realized that my original 250gig SSD was probably fine and I've paid right about $150.00 for a downgraded solid state and my PC has been out of commission for well over a week (the entire out of commission time is not their fault, I missed a couple of pickup opportunities due to work and life) but I'd say the split is about 80/20.
Today I've got it back and am using it to tell this tale as a precautionary story. I don't doubt these guy's skill or knowledge in repairs, but their thoroughness, communication, and customer service skills are the reason for 1 star. I appreciate the apologetic upgrade I was given back to a 250 gig SSD and the new graphics card (nvidia geforce gtx 1660) is fantastic, but ultimately I paid about $450.00 for a $300.00 GPU and went about 2 weeks without my PC and there was only one guy in this store that I spoke with that seemed to genuinely feel bad for how poorly this...
Read moreI had a cracked/shattered touchscreen laptop that I use for work which I brought in for repairs after googling a nearby repair shop and 1up came to the top of the list. I was weary of a few negative feedback, but I'm glad I went. The person I met was Matt, he's absolutely awesome.
After explaining the diagnoses of my laptop, he gave me the cost of the parts and the shipping of it in an honest way (showing me how he orders the parts and the shipping cost on his computer) - I like doing business with people who are honest.
He gave me the approximate time frame of when I may be able to pick up after discussing options: to leave my laptop so they can repair as soon as the parts arrive or bring in the laptop when the parts arrive so I can still use an HDMI to a screen, and leaving a deposit. Rather than making several trips, I decided to leave my laptop.
Matt also gave me the overall cost of everything, repair, labor, parts, shipping, etc. I paid in full at that time rather than the deposit - it warrants it as I found him to be honest and great at customer service - I had nothing to worry about.
It proved true, Matt gave me a week when I can pick up my laptop after repairs were conducted. I turned in my laptop on a Saturday last week, I just picked it up today (a Friday), 6 days... I am amaze at how quickly they (or particularly, him) gets things done. If I could leave a tip, I would be very generous even tho the overall cost was a bit pricey, I thought it was more than fair.
I will be a returning customer if any of my electronics that they fix ever breaks. I had even refer my workplace to 1Up....
Read moreOn Wednesday October 18th I brought my Xbox BACK in after 2 weeks of a repair! Worker told me at first that I would have to pay the $200 repair once again! I told him why would I come here if my Xbox would break again in 2 weeks, he proceeded to tell me the Xbox repair wasn’t that much and I had more work done on it for it to be that price. He proceeded to get offensive and had an attitude the rest of my visit. you repair phones/Xboxs relax dude ! Why I went to look for my receipt he proceeded to call his boss ( I’m guessing that’s who he called) were he told him supposedly he charge me the right price ! (Weird huh….) I I obviously got scammed, you live and learn I guess ! That guy working on Thursday needs to be retrained asap!! He makes your business look HORRIBLE with how he treats his customers … I don’t know how the hell u have a 4.4 stars as a review, with his as a worker… !! I have been here so many times for phone repairs and ect!!! I’ll never be back because of him !! Very disrespectfull fella!
Tuesday October 23 I got a call saying they could not repair my Xbox after waiting for the repair (I would think a mess up from them from make mine first priority but I guess not)! Would be hard for me to come back here.. A lot of other good repairs stores nearby who treats their customers with respect, and will do the job right the first ! Complete waste of money and a JOKE of a...
