I wouldn’t recommend living here unless it’s 100% your only option. These apartments genuinely need to be torn down and rebuilt entirely. I’ve gone almost a week without being able to use my sink or dishwasher now, despite having maintenance out multiple times as well as plumbers (who were there for 10-15 minutes before leaving and telling me it was all fixed). This means I’ve been unable to cook or use my kitchen sink and dishwasher at all for almost an entire week, and the smell from my sink and dishwasher is unbearable due to the buildup of dirty water. This led to my dishwasher overflowing, and nearly flooding the entire back part of my living room with all of the dirty water that had built up. When i came home the other day, my sink was filled to the brim with some sort of black sludge that smelled even worse. It’s insane that these problems would persist for this long given that my kitchen is practically unusable, and i’ve been given inconsistent information and communication regarding when it will be functioning again. Any level of communication about this issue only began when I initiated it. I was told that it would finally be fixed this morning and that I would receive a call about it regardless, but to not use my dishwasher or garbage disposal in the meantime. I have heard absolutely nothing today whatsoever, and can’t get in contact with the front office at all. I’ve had to keep my animals in my room while i’m gone in order for maintenance to come in and have had to do this for multiple days in a row now due to the lack of clarity on this issue. I now have no idea when this is going to be fixed despite this issue going on for nearly a week now. I’ve been dealing with smaller issues related to plumbing since moving in almost two years ago, but the conditions i’ve been living in as of late are disgusting and unacceptable. My kitchen being unusable for almost a week has had a massive effect on my ability to live comfortably here. Even when it came to the temporary apartment I was put in, they called me at 11PM to tell me I had to be out by 1PM that same day while I was at work, with no other options offered to me besides leaving work and moving my stuff out alone in the span of two hours. If you’re thinking about moving here due to proximity to campus, I can promise you that having to use the shuttle is a much better scenario than having to live in a place where these conditions aren’t deemed as an issue that requires prioritization. There are much MUCH higher quality places that are much cheaper in the area.(EDIT: When moving me back into my apartment with less than a two hour notice, my floor hadn’t even been fully fixed and there was a painting missing off of my wall. Last photo is what my floor looked like.Suffice to say these people are NOT worth your time or money unless you’re in an extremely desperate housing situation.) - 2...
Read moreSo, the fact that I have to write a review is super ridiculous and speaks volumes on how badly my experience was at this complex, I literally never write reviews. I could go on and on about how badly my experience here was, but I'm going to break down exactly why I hate this place with a burning passion in a few points. This is also one of those "if I could give it a negative/0 star review I would," because believe me, I would. I would also like to point out when I was signing my lease in May 2015, I distinctly remember that folks in management literally told me that I am not allowed to "write any negative reviews" until my lease was up. That's when I knew that I leased myself to the pit of Hell itself.
Management does not give any cares at all. Just give up now if you expect management here to be decent human beings. When the floods happened in October 2015 last year, it literally took management/maintenance until February 2016 to "address" the issue in my unit, which was literally just painting over the collapsed roofing. Maintenance never returned to finish addressing the issue after one visit. After the flood in October 2015, a good portion of the parking lot became blocked off and was unassessable and is still unaccessible now. Management never addressed this issue. Good luck getting maintenance to respond to anything, I've maybe had two whole issues addressed that were reporting within my first two months at living here addressed during my entire year's lease. I had more than two issues needing to be addressed, one of them being a rotting pipe/mildew growing under my kitchen sink. Nope, apparently not that important. Not a health hazard or anything. I would also like to point out that this issue existed literally when I moved in. Not only does management not care, they talk down to you and treat you like you're stupid when you ask questions. (They especially love to do this about information that they do not make accessible at all.) Speaking of accessibility, if you are physically disabled, good luck with navigating around the complex. Apartment complexes in Texas are legally required to be accessible to physically disabled folks, but it is very clear that Treehouse does not care about this population in the slightest. The parking lot and all of the complex is literally impossible for anyone who is not able-bodied to navigate. The units in the laundry room are literally always broken. Neighbors are extremely loud at this complex and party all night, every single night. Management does nothing about this and don't want to be involved so don't even bother. They'll just tell you to make a non-emergency call to SMPD. Please do yourself a favor and not live here. It's...
Read moreI'm really not one to write a review but after my experience I feel as though it was the necessary thing to do. So I moved here only because it was so close to campus. When I toured this place it seemed cozy and nice. The apartment that was available to tour was in very good condition. So I felt as though it was a good idea to sign since I did not want to have to deal with the bus. When I moved in, the place was literally a dump. The bathroom was and still is falling apart. The popcorn ceiling is gross and falling apart, the paint in the bathroom is chipping and coming off, the mirror has permanent water stains on it. The whole place was so gross, as if no one had even bothered to clean it after they moved out. I ended up having problems with the toilet so I called maintenance who apparently alerted the office about the awful bathroom and the office did nothing about it. I've had major bug issues here, the whole place just smells all the time unless you have a candle or incense burning. I think its the carpets that really smell. They probably haven't been replaced in years. The shower takes forever to find a comfortable temperature and the bugs are real here. The AC is old and never works right and maintenance can't ever do much to fix it besides change out the filter. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your upstairs neighbor walk on their floor. This place is so old and needs to be renovated. I really actually HATE living here. It's the worst apartment I've ever lived in. The apartment I toured was so deceiving. I've had so many issues with the toilet, with bugs, and just with living here in general. Oh yeah did I mention that there is a laundry room? I didn't have too much of a problem with it at first but its literally disgusting in there. And the machine to pay for the laundry machines are always broken and need repairing which a resident must call in and report themselves (which is incredibly stupid)
Ok so, the pros: the sweetest maintenance man, free food and meals in the office often and the location. That's it.
I've had the worst day today waking up with a cockroach in my room then coming home to a messed up toilet that ended up over flooding so I felt very compelled to write this review.
I am SO unhappy living here and wish I could get out now.
DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON BASICALLY LIVING AT SCHOOL! I AM SERIOUS DO NOT SIGN HERE YOU WILL...
