A couple weeks ago, my grandfather was denied service at this restaurant. He went during the week for a nice breakfast before returning home, but was told he could not be seated because he was a party of one. This is completely unacceptable and horrible customer service. My grandfather is 87-years old, a widower who lost his wife of 60 years almost a year ago, and has cancer. All he was trying to do was treat himself to a new restaurant that his family introduced him to.
When I called on his behalf, since he is not the type of person to complain to avoid bringing a lot of unwarranted attention to himself, I spoke to a manager named Samantha. Samantha was very helpful, listened to the situation and assured me she would help us figure it out and have the owner call me back. After 24 hours, I had not heard from the owner, so I called again. I spoke to an Alyssa, and was treated like a horrible villain for checking in on what was going on. She spoke over me, indirectly accused me and my grandpa being a liar, and told me there was no way “her staff” could ever do that to someone. I barely spoke and I only wanted to know when an owner would call me back about this.
By the end of the call, I felt like I was wrong for calling on such a horrible thing that “her staff” did. My grandfather does not complain to us about things unless they are very serious as he knows we are much more protective of him now that we are the only ones left to take care of him. I’ve worked in customer service and management for years, and would never speak to a customer this way. I would think an owner of a business would call someone complaining about the mistreatment about one of their customers to at least let them know they are looking into it. It is completely unprofessional and the lack of emotional control one of their managers demonstrated further proves that. I’ve worked closely in the community of San Ramon for two years, and my family has lived there for over 30 years, and this is not the type of customer service I expect from such a great community. I will be alerting those I know in the community of San Ramon and the surrounding cities and hope they stop their patronage of such an unprofessional restaurant. There are many other restaurants nearby, all of which would never treat people like we...
Read more'Hit or 'Miss?' Dinner: We just found this place, one Friday evening and gave it a whirl. First off, six p.m., table for two, no wait on a Friday night. There was live blues that night too and they weren't horrible. It was enjoyable. We sat in the dining room, but could hear the music from the bar area just fine. As for the food...read on. The first thing that I noticed were the pre-Brandon prices; so far so good. Then our waiter, Ethan, said they had crayfish etoufffee. He had me at crayfish. Now I am not from the south, but I've spent several years down there working in the Gulf of Mexico, and Clementine's is no Black's Oyster House in Abbeville, LA., but this is not a common dish out here on the left coast either so I was all in. We had this and the catfish dinner and neither disappointed! Our appetizer was quite good as well. My wife doesn't particularly appreciate catfish like I do, but this one she did. This is the only Clementine's I found out here and we found it to be a 'Hit.' The service was quite good and the food served was very flavorful and true to the southern ways. It isn't the south, but for what it is Clementine's is a hit for us! Thanks guys, we enjoyed our evening with y'all and even went back for breakfast which is...
Read moreI came here on a date. Tried my own version of the trio..etouffee, gumbo, and corn chowder and a hurricane to wash it down. I was disappointed in everything, except the corn chowder. The food came out quickly and hot. NOTHING reminded me of home. The etouffee had a few big seasoned shrimp, but the full slices of mushrooms was weird. Ok flavor. The gumbo was a nice brown but very heavy in tomato taste and lacked seasoning. The chowder was creamy and seasoned well. The hurricane Was Not a hurricane. There was some syrup consistency mix of sorts at the bottom of the glass and the taste was just all wrong. They thankfully allowed me to order something different. I've been here 5 years and this was my go to spot. I even left a 5 star review 2 years ago but the quality of the food has dramatically decreased since then. Not to mention the catfish that I was in love with changing seasoning mix and the filled getting smaller. The red beans and rice is now beans and rice and the rice that they use always smells sour. I know its not, but it's off as with other things. I clearly can't recommend this place if you want authentic southern/cajun...
