Service was slow even though we were the only two patrons upon arrival we were asked if we had any reservations at a empty restaurant/winery. Sat at the bar and it took 5 minutes until the server came up to us to give us 2 waters and to take our order she was more focused on a takeout order on the phone then taking our order. Drinks that were made were good. Sushi was good as well but could've been rolled tighter. After telling us we could go out to the patio to eat drink and smoke our cigar as we sat down on the patio we were then told we were not able to smoke a cigar unless we went out to the sidewalk. Another couple came out to the patio and had the whole Rundown on the specials and happy hour menu on the evening by the server we had been seated by which we never was told any of that at all. After getting our meal our server never came back and checked on us if we needed anything it's been 30 minutes since she has served us. Knowing the inside only had 4 people sitting. it was not busy at all. Overall cool place and tons of wines and drinks to choose from.

Not Quite the Crush I Was Hoping For We had high hopes for Crush Wine Bar in Sandusky, but our experience missed the mark. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table blasted by the setting sun—making it tough to enjoy the ambiance. Oddly, OpenTable still showed plenty of available tables, so it felt like poor seating management. We started with the calamari and asked for a side of marinara—it arrived ice cold, like it had just come out of the fridge. Not ideal. The special of the night was already sold out, so I settled for the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming—bland, in need of salt and parm to bring it to life. Our server was kind and attentive, but overall, it wasn’t the kind of evening we were hoping for. For a place marketed as a date night destination, it needs some fine-tuning.

It was a true delight to stop by Crush on our first night back upon moving home to Ohio and to leave nothing but grateful and completely impressed! It was exactly what we needed. Almost like a welcome home present from Sandusky, Ohio. The martinis were ice cold and consistent as always, as was the creme brulee. But let me tell you how the scallops sambusca were cooked to perfection! Absolutely amazing! Thank you, Crush Wine Bar for staying consistent during COVID and for seemingly being better than ever for our return home!

This was our first time at Crush. - Had heard good things about it, were pleased to finally check it out, and weren't disappointed. In fact, it exceeded our expectations. This has just the right atmosphere for a wine bar.....sophisticated, yet welcoming for most any occasion or style of dress.

They have an impressive wine list, by glass or bottle. (In fact, they've been recognized by Wine Spectator for having a great wine list basically every year since they've been open....around 12 years running.) They have a nice food menu, with changing specials....a good selection for most anyone. We had just come for a glass or two of wine, not to eat, so we didn't get to sample their delicious sounding entrees. We did get a couple appetizers: fresh, crusty bread with dipping oil (for only $4!) as well as a smoked trout pate. They readily accommodated our request for cucumbers to go with the trout pate rather than crostini. Both were a nice accompaniment to the wine. (TBH, I thought the pate was lacking a little flavor and was a bit dry compared to some outstanding trout dips/pates I've had elsewhere, but this may be more personal taste.) We were pleased enough with everything that we look forward to going again and this time trying some of their other small plates as well as their entress. (They seem to specialize in getting unique and varied oysters and have a n ever-changing selection. Yum!)

We were warmly greeted at the door, and the woman who greeted soon thereafter checked in on us at the bar and made friendly conversation.....Turned out she (Andrea) is the owner. It was the Saturday before Halloween, and she and her staff were all in costume. Andrea appears to have a strong, fun, and cohesive staff, and we had great service. Thanks for the really nice experience, Andrea.

Check out Crush....You'll be...

It’s our second time dining at Crush in a week. Two Saturday evenings in a row. Last Saturday we ate in the bar and it was every bit of wonderful. This Saturday we brought a guest and we sat out on the front patio. Elli was our excellent server in both visits! This place is awesome. Wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces to dine. They have two different patio areas. And the restaurant is a short easy walk down to the lake after dinner. We are NA beverage customers, so I can’t talk about the wine or the cocktails. But our food was amazing! We had the special summer peach salad, the smoked trout dip appetizer was fantastic and I don’t even usually like fish! We also had the salmon entrée, The Bolognese pasta entrée and the crabcake chef special entrée! Beautiful presentation, Great portions, and amazing flavor! We just rediscovered this place after seeing the promos about the City of Sandusky ribbon-cutting and all the wonderful things right there on that block in Sandusky. We don’t live nearby, but this is definitely going to be our new go-to spot anyway! We had an opportunity to see the entrées at the tables nearby to us, and whether it was sushi, steak, flatbread or any of the other choices, It looked like everybody was enjoying everything they had! They do get busy on the weekend, so be sure you snag a...

Crush was an amazing experience. My group is full of guys who work in one of the top steakhouses in Texas. We all came to the consensus that Crush beat their restaurant by a mile! The food, the dessert, the drinks, the SERVICE! All absolutely UNMATCHED. It was so good that we came back the next day even though we had reservations elsewhere. We also tried out multiple sushi rolls and their hamachi crudo (on the daily special, so may not be available but if it is, GET IT!) and they were absolutely delicious. The truffle fries were super crispy and not overwhelmingly truffly. The shrimp was incredibly flavourful as well. The dessert, sweet Jesus. If you are a chocoholic, get the chocoholic’s anonymous. If you’re not a chocolate fanatic, the pineapple upside down cake is AMAZING. Finally, our server, Taylor was TOP TIER. She was so knowledgeable and kind and overall patient with our table. Service was ten out of five stars. We are incredibly sad that we will not be able to enjoy Crush again for a while. But best believe, this will be THE place we visit when we come back to Sandusky. Thank you Taylor and Joe for the amazing...
