My wife, daughter (16yo), and I had dinner here on our first evening at Cedar Point. We try to maintain a strict "no national chain" rule, and held strong tonight. We roled in to The Shore House Tavern this evening at 8:45pm for dinner. It is in a great location on the lakefront in downtown Sandusky. At first, the tavern was filled with both families and couples enjoying dinner, but by 9:15pm, the place turned in to one of the local hangouts, where everyone seemed to know everyone; and definitely looked to be a local hangout. My wife and I each ordered cocktail (a strawberry vodka lemonade, and a blackberry tequila lemonade) along with some chips, salsa, and guacamole for an appitizer. The chips and salsa were good, and we each ordered our meals for dinner. I ordered the Lake Erie Fried Perch Sandwich with a House Salad w/ Ceasar Dressing, my wife ordered the Mahi-Mahi Tacos, and my daughter ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese. It took awhile to get our food, but the food was good and we were each pleased with what we got. The perch sandwich was great, but it needed just a little more punch (perhaps some of the roumelade that they use for the po'boys), and my wife's tacos looked delecious. The baked mac and cheese was a really large helping, and it was good (having tasted a little of my daughters). But by 9:30pm, you could not carry a conversation at the table because it was just so loud (but its a bar....so that really isn't a complaint.....just fair warning). All in all, it was great food and highly...
Read moreA couple of friends and I decided to check out Shore House Tavern for a casual drink, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The minute we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cozy interior instantly put us at ease, making it the perfect spot to unwind and catch up. The staff behind the bar was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. We sampled a variety of bourbon beers and cocktails, all expertly crafted and delicious. It was the kind of place where conversation flowed effortlessly, and before we knew it, hours had passed. While we didn't have a chance to try the food on this visit, the menu looked tempting. We're already planning a return trip to sample their culinary delights, perhaps a bit earlier in the day to fully enjoy the experience. If you're looking for a relaxed spot to grab a drink with friends and enjoy good company, Shore House Tavern is the place to be. We can't wait to go back and explore more of what they...
Read moreWe went on Kentucky Derby day, but earlier. We love this place, food ( Lake Erie Perch) was awesome as ALWAYS!! I wanted a martini, told Drew to make anything and he came back with a Key Lime ( which I normally don't like) and it was delicious!!! I don't know if Drew is the owner, because he's there everytime we go there. If he's not, he should be!!! He's very attentive, has a GREAT personality and treats you like your his only customer. If not the owner, he deserves a raise!!! What a great place to just stop and have a beverage, but food is AWESOME!! Great location, plenty of nearby parking, close to the lake and shopping, just a GREAT place to go!!! Please stop in, we stumbled upon it a few years ago and it's DEFINITELY...
