I was told to expect the best tacos I'd ever eaten, but even if my expectations weren't set so high ahead of time, I'd still only be rating these tacos at three stars.
I went during lunch time. The restaurant was busy.. My friend and I ordered our food to go, though we did manage to find a seat while we waited. The building looks like it's not kept up very well, other inside and out. It feels dirty. I did like the authentic Mexican feel of the place, though. The employees speak primarily Spanish, even when calling out ticket numbers to the waiting guests. And they seem to know enough English to get by if someone isn't able to speak Spanish at all.
I ordered one shrimp taco, one fish, and one barbacoa. My friend ordered two fish and one tongue. All of the tacos were good, but none were truly great. The toppings and meats were well thought out and tasted good together, but the shells themselves left a lot to be desired. They were all soft, white shells that were a little lumpy. I believe they were made with corn, but it was hard to tell. For my barbacoa taco, the shell was very wet. It felt and tasted soggy. The meats weren't bad, but they also didn't taste like the chef level food I was expecting.
There are signs in the restaurant stating that they have the best tacos in Atlanta, and that chefs eat there. I find both statements hard to believe, unless they shut the place down, clean it up, and serve a private meal when a chef stops by. Maybe it was just because they were busy at the the, but the food really just wasn't very...
Read moreToday for our lunch we decided to stop by here to eat. food was honestly not the best in flavor. My torta asada was decent and the size for me was perfect. But the quesadilla was just plain. Mango water is on point and then salsas were also great! Green one was really good Service was fast and they’re nice . But as cashier/server wish they knew the menu more or at least had recommendations. I am Mexican so I do know the food items but every restaurant is different and I wanted to know what was popular at this location. Next the napkins . They have no napkins around you have to ask which they give you some once your food comes out but it’s only 1. To me that’s a no . You don’t need a dine in restaurant if you cheap about napkins . And to kill me the bathroom was literally a closet . It’s so small it gets dirty fast that they honestly need to be more on it especially because they have air freshener but it still smells so I definitely recommend you use the bathroom or take your kids somewhere else to eat because you and a child don’t even fit . For a fast meal it’s decent. But if I’m ever in the area again I wouldn’t stop by . It’s in a great location but needs a...
Read moreYou have to love this hidden gem on Roswell Road. While on the main road right near the Prado Shopping center, you might drive right past the yellow building and never see it. Well all I can tell you is look for it and make sure you stop if you want true authentic mexican food that is top notch, affordable, and the staff are awesome. The Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, pictured, is amazing. Everything is fresh made, so if you don't call ahead just denote this isn't fast food, this is food made right when you order it. I've been here at least 10 times in the past 5 months and the consistency in the quality and the top notch service from the staff is there every time. They do have a drive through that is available as well if you like, just note again you have to wait a tad compared to fast food cause they are cooking it to order every time. Also, while the building might not look the best, check out the health score, it's 100 and their past 3 years has never been under an A on their rating. Highly Recommended and looking forward to going back again in the future, and please make sure to tip the staff something for the awesome service and food you are...
