This was our first time ever going to a Taco Mac and I really not thrilled with our experience. We have been to plenty of chain restaurants like beef o Brady's or Chili's and the noise was beyond unbearable! I don't know if the building designers don't know how to work on baffling but this wasn't it. Then the choice of these horrible metal chairs and high chairs on cement is just plain stupid! The high chairs are impossible to get in and out of as well.
So it took about 15 minutes to get a waitress (which is normal) but she got my drink totally wrong and when I tried to correct it she still repeated it wrong. I had to yell it at her over the noise. Then got appetizers and it was 45 mins later before we got to order and even had to hunt her down just to order. The reason is she never stopped by once to check on us when she would come outside to take drinks and beer to others. It was taking longer than expected so we hunted her down again and asked about our food. She said she would check and see if we had any in front of us. Once we got it I had the beef tacos. I have had better at Taco Bell! I had grease pouring down my hand, my husband's fish and chips were so crispy it was impossible to eat! The cilantro rice was dry and tasteless. So by now it's been already a crappy experience (the table was so loud they drowned out the TVs), we were tired and has two hours to drive home. When we were able to grab her again, asked for boxes. She took off so fast we didn't get to ask her for a ticket. She brought the boxes back and we asked for the ticket, she asked if we needed a box. So out of frustration my son in law paid for it not wanting to wait to fix it.
Now the bathroom for the women smelled like a urinal at an outdoor concert port a potty. It was unbearable!
So I will say I will never come back to this one ever again! We have 1 in Pelham AL and I am not sure I even want...
Read moreAfter falling in love with Taco Mac 20 years ago, it has been frustrating to see its steady decline. We have experienced poor service at their Alpharetta (now closed), Milton, and now Sandy Springs locations.
Our visit to the Sandy Springs location will be the last time we set foot in a Taco Mac. We understand the labor crunch, and are appreciative of people willing to work, especially as servers in an industry I know well.
But last night we were treated rudely by the bartender who was condescending from the start and made it clear at every turn she considered having to do her job a burden.
We simply were having a few drinks while awaiting take-out. When we asked that the oder that came out first be kept warm in the kitchen under a heat lamp, we got a lecture on how busy they were and how inconvenient it would be because they were so busy. When we looked around in response at the 2 other people at the bar and maybe 10 total in the restaurant, we got a lecture on the crushing demands of takeout and DoorDash activity of which we saw no evidence.
Then, when we tried to divide our check a certain way and she did it wrong, we were told that it was us who told her to do it wrong and then got another lecture on how badly we were inconveniencing her, from doing what we could not see.
To the restaurants credit, when I spoke to the manager she seemed concerned and promised a follow up conversation. But whatever is wrong with Taco Mac seems systemic. I wonder how long it will be before it is included on a TikTok about restaurants that no longer exists.
There are plenty of great options for drinks and dining just up the street from this Taco Mac. I suggest you pass it by and find another...
Read moreFirst off, let me say that I love Taco Mac as a whole. My sister worked there for a few years and I've been to my share of Taco Macs. However, this particular location....sucks. What made this experience even worse was that my boyfriend and I brought friends from California who had never eaten at Taco Mac and this was unfortunately the first impression they got. It was a Monday night so they weren't too busy, yet our server, Haley, seemed to be in the weeds. We all ordered drinks and my friend ordered wings and asked to mix sauces. Haley said they don't do that anymore. Which, if you've ever worked in a restaurant that sells wings you know that you can always mix sauces at any time. Its actually very easy. But oh well, that would have been fine if that was all that happened. I ordered another beer before our food arrived...that beer didn't come until we were done eating and had asked for the checks. At that point, I just sent it back and had Haley take it off the check. Which brings to the final issue that really just made me decide I was done with this place. My boyfriend and I used our Brewniversity cards and when I asked for the checks she said that she had to put us on two separate checks because we used our Brewniversity cards. Now, as I previously stated, I have been to a lot of Taco Macs, a lot of them with my boyfriend and we always use our Brewniversity cards and we have never had any issues whatsoever with being on one check. The whole experience was very strange, although the food was delicious as usual. If I were you, pick a different location, there's...
