The worst. Service sucked... Food was awful. I ordered the island salad and fresh fruit, my daughter ordered the gruby burger and fries. The salad had shrimp spinach chinese wonton mandarin oranges and coconut... Horrible for $12. I had 5 over cooked shrimp and about a handful of spinach. The dressing was overly thick and sweet. Fresh fruit had someones hair in it. My daughter ate the burger and said it was good, the fries were bland cold with no flavor, not even salt. The bill came to $27. I didnt eat half of my salad, but ate shrimp as I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon being that my son is at Scottish Rite. So we informed waiter that it was bad when he brought us the check (the only other time he came to table after taking order), and he said, "I can tell you didn't like it, you ate it". My daughter informed him that I didnt even eat half of the salad. I paid the ticket (because I refused to let him think I couldn't afford it) plus gave him 3 bucks as I didnt even want to wait for my change. Horrible first time experience with this place, and we will not be coming back nor recommending this place. I am, however, going to be yelping as well as posting them all over social media to let other "paying" customers know...
Read moreIf you want the best little NY Deli in Atlanta, Ga look no further than Gruby’s NY Deli (near ‘Pill Hill’) I had the #17 Herald Square- the moist fresh turkey, cranberry sauce, Brie cheese that’s melted and so gooey topped with toasted rye bread. It’s like having the day after Thanksgiving any day of the week. The other favorite of mine is the NY Rueben. The fresh corned beef that is freshly sliced. The fresh rye bread, toasted, with sauerkraut, and cheese makes you feel like you’re in NYC. Please don’t forget about the homemade chicken noodle soup that feels like mom made it just for you. The fresh pulled chicken, with carrots celery and the broth will cure anything. The matzo ball soup is another favorite, huge dumpling moist and just right with the broth surrounding this little bit of heaven. Last, as far as food is the breakfast! If you’re looking for plan on working after eating breakfast you’ll need to nap before working a hard day. The pancakes are huge, the fresh eggs and bacon will definitely put you in a great mood. To top off this little gem is the staff there. Every-time you walk in it’s like coming home as there are so many regulars here you know this place is where you...
Read moreSo for starters you want to eat here. Everything I had was great.
We ordered the corned beef omelette and a ham egg and cheese on a kaiser roll.
For those of you from New York this place has real raw sandwiches. Now the ones in NY are better but for Atlanta they are great. The eggs were slightly runny and the kaiser roll was nice and chewy.
The corned beef omelette was great and went will the side of potatoes. You also choose a second side. I chose a bagel after he said they make them in New York almost done and finished the baking here. The bagel was chewy and soft. It's not a New York bagel so don't get your hopes up but it was very good.
In the old Zagat days I could rate service separate from food but I cannot do that here. There was 1 waiter bussing 9 tables. He was really good and personable but you need more that 1 server for 9 tables. So out service was a little slow
Otherwise expect a great place to eat. I will return.
Edit.
Camera here again and was not let down. Good service and good food. I didn’t see...
