Ming's Asian Kitchen (Woodlawn & Lower Roswell) — Restaurant in Sandy Springs

For a couple of years now Mom (age 93) and I met at the restaurant, always at 12:30, for lunch. I estimate we lunched there 8-9 times. On this Saturday we were the only patrons in the restaurant throughout our roughly 40 minute meal (there was one to-go order pick-up during out meal). We finished eating and Mom was enjoying another cup of tea when two men roll out two buckets and start mopping the floor, starting by the front door and working their way toward out table. The chemical odor was strong and so we felt the need to leave.

Obviously management wanted us out of the restaurant. Why not mop the floor before lunchtime? Why not wait another 5-10 minutes until your ONLY patrons leave (you'd have 3+ hours to mop prior to early-dinner diners)? Strange. So Mom and I decided to never again eat at Ming's.

The food had been okay for the price. Wanton soup could have been served hotter and I would have preferred a less sauce on the chicken w/veggies entree, but the food is not the reason for moving on...

Ming's is great. We use them for pick up most of the time but have dined in as well. I'll be speaking largely about the pick up/carry out service.

Overall I typically cant drive to Ming's faster than they can prepare the food. It's almost always "ready in 15 minutes" and it's almost always ready before that.

By the time i get our food home and handed out the food is still = warm. (Not bad considering 2 toddlers).

Orders are always right. Legit, always. The drunken noodles are very yummy. Their chicken pad thai is good but often lacking spices so If you like it hot be sure to specify "Thai Hot". Their Indonesian fried rice is fantastic and seasoning is on point. Their traditional fried rice is as expected and both my kids and Grandfather enjoy it

Both spring and summer rolls are traditional and enjoyable both seem very fresh.

The food feels and the people personify warmth and passion even from this largely pickup/carryout PoV.

Definitely recommend giving them...

Whoa! How did i miss this place alll these years?!? Amazing experience from beginning to end! Upon arrival i was greet by one of the kindest people ever. She asked if i was picking up an order, i told her no! And before i could finish my sentence, she cracked the biggest smile and asked “are you gonna stay and eat here?” I said yes! And returned the smile. You ever felt like something amazing was about to happen..because it definitely did.

I order the basil chicken, initially i was bummed because they do not ground their chicken.

While waiting i was given a bowl of hot and sour soup. I’ve never had this soup before. Well i have, but i haven’t. I tried it once but i just remember it being too hot. I’m not sure what was in this soup, but it was amazing. I had some kick but it felt hearty if that makes any sense!

My basil chicken came and it was amazing. Very flavorful. And the portions were nice.

I actually ate alll of it! Even the white rice😂.
