This is what I call a hidden gem!! This review I’m writing with mixed emotions. The place is behind an ice cream shop, so people might even not know about it. Addobbo still not busy, and as a Sanford resident, I like to encourage you to go try that place and write them a review so they may stay in business and we continue to enjoy eating authentic Italian pizza.
If you're craving an authentic Italian pizza experience without the need for a passport, look no further than Addobbo Wood-Fired Pizza. This hidden gem brings the rich flavors of Italy right to our neighborhood, and let me tell you, it’s a culinary journey worth taking!
From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The seating area is not only cozy but also pet-friendly, which is a delightful bonus for dog owners looking to enjoy a meal with their furry friends by their side.
Each bite of their Pizza transports you to the charming streets of Italy, thanks to the use of imported flour and olive oil directly sourced from the heart of the country. The crust is perfectly charred, showcasing that signature wood-fired flavor that is incredibly hard to replicate. The toppings are fresh and vibrant, making every slice a delicious masterpiece.
Addobbo Wood-Fired Pizza is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food in a welcoming environment. With its delicious, authentic flavors and pet-friendly seating, it’s the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special outing. Trust me; you’ll leave with a full stomach and a satisfied palate, dreaming of...
Read moreNah, this place ain’t it. They open at 11:30am, I arrived at 11:45am to a locked front door. Was getting ready to call when either the manager or owner fortunately showed up and unlocked the door for me. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and wanted the sliced Italian sausage added to it, but the guy who took my order (who seemingly had no clue how to work the register) ended up getting the order wrong, as you can see in my picture I received the crumbled sausage, not the sliced sausage. Also, I believe they literally made my pizza twice because their oven wasn’t the right temp the first time, so it took a while for me to get my food. The pizza I received, frankly, wasn’t great. It was very dense/doughy, extremely greasy, and the undercarriage was underbaked and floppy, verging on wet. Oh, and the location isn’t great, it’s literally hiding in the back of an ice cream shop, and there is very limited inside seating. Lastly, it’s counter service, and they don’t even bring you your pizza, they just call your name and you go grab it from them. No one came to my table for any reason, and no one even offered me a glass of water...
Read moreIn my house, we don’t call it Addobbo Pizza. We call it “the good pizza.” Not because the name is hard to pronounce, but because when someone says “Hey, should we get the good pizza tonight?” there’s only one place we mean.
The crust walks that fine line between crispy and chewy like it went to finishing school in Naples but still tailgates on Saturdays. The sauce? Tangy enough to make you raise an eyebrow, sweet enough to make you smile. And the cheese stretch? Let’s just say it could double as a family activity—everyone at the table pulling one slice in four directions like it’s mozzarella tug-of-war.
But the real magic of Addobbo isn’t just the pizza (though, let’s be honest, that’s why we’re all here). It’s the way the place makes Sanford feel like it’s got a little corner of Italy tucked inside it. The vibe says, “Sure, you could eat anywhere else, but why would you when you can eat here?”
So yes, we call it “the good pizza.” Try it once, and you’ll be calling...
