The bar itself is decent, but there's a couple of issues that made the place uninviting, but each issue could easily be addressed and gives the whole location a lot of potential.
Pros: Centrally located in Sanford's bar district Fast service Excellent prices on food Food portions are large Plenty of tabletop games to play Outdoor seating in back for smokers
Cons: First, the foot rest bar was loose from improper installation which made sitting at the bar for some offputting.
Second, the 2x4 jumbo jenga game, while fun, is too big for the indoor tables. It makes a deafening crash when toppled, and the size occupies an entire bench table.
Third, the music was loud, too loud, even for an active bar. The bartender kept turning the volume up to the point where bar patrons sitting next to each other had to scream to hear each other.
Fourth, the bar staff only consisted of two people; The bartender, and the kitchen cook. While service was fast once helped, they could only attend to one person at a time.
Fifth, the food was meh.
Last, the skeeball lanes take up too much room and cause a major congestion point when trying to move about the back half of the bar.
Suggested fixes: Hire extra staff to wait on patrons when busy. Move space consuming games Limit music volume to customer requests Improve food...
Read moreThis was a really cute little spot to get a quick bite to eat. My bf and I were visiting his cousin for Halloween weekend and we stopped in here for dinner between 6-7 pm. This placed was converted from an Old train station and gives a "Chelsea Market" type vibe in regards to having a few different food options available (e.g. desserts, sandwich es, pizza, burgers etc.). There's seating on both ends of the "station." I unfortunately forgot the name of the placed we ordered from specially and it didn't say on the receipt either, but it was one of the burger places. I got an Adobo chicken sandwich which was very nice and crispy with plenty of sauce, only slight downside was that the sauce tasted a tad on the salty side (I could taste some flavor of sweetness like terriyaki). My bf got their smash burger and he said it was really good. Turned one of the dishes into a combo and they gave us a good amount of fries to share between two people. Fries were seasoned well and reminscent of Arby's curly fries - so good. We got a strawberry hibiscus tea as well that was...
Read moreI moved to Sanford several months ago and have been into this bar twice. The first time was a great experience. Even with a packed bar on Friday night, the bartenders (Jen and Santana) were incredible, attentive and made an amazing black cherry mojito. Went in this past weekend and my experience was the complete opposite. The heavy set older bartender was more concerned socializing and standing there doing nothing rather than serve me. She did however serve a group of underage kids in front of me and never asked for an ID. After waiting 20 minutes for a drink, I gave up, went to the bathroom (which is where I heard the girls in the group on the phone with their friends telling them to come to throwbacks because they serve without ID’ing) and left. I will never come back to this bar again. The owner really needs to reconsider his choices...
