Chronic Guru Dispensary & Lounge - Sanford — Local services in Sanford

As a medical patient, I was excited to give Chronic Guru a try due to their THCA selection. I understand that they are not a medical dispensary—that’s fine, I didn’t expect a medical experience, but more of a relaxed recreational one. With this in mind, I walked in and sat at the bar, and I was greeted by a very nice associate behind the bar, who presented me with two great sounding flower options…both exceedingly high for 3.5g, above $45 per. I was surprised that these were the two options unless I wanted a free pre-roll or a free THC tincture drink. I took the preroll and while I did really like it, I couldn’t justify going back at the price point for such little selection of flower. I know the name Chronic Guru for their local presence and quality products in which the reviews online speak for themselves, but this experience left me underwhelmed as I was ready to purchase multiple items. At these price points, they didn’t leave me much room to feel good about making a purchase. For clarification, I know medical prices differ from non-medical prices, however, $45 per eighth means a $360 ounce. Online, flower is $5 less and regardless of THCA level, an eighth is $40. This non-tiered pricing system seems amiss. The preroll I received (Triple Burger) smoked very well and had great taste. So, based off of this one product alone, the associate experience, and the cool idea of an environment you can smoke inside of—I have chosen to give three stars, leaving two off for the in-person experience, price point, and mainly a shallow selection...

Ok so let me start by saying I found this place about a year ago online n I’ve been going there since.(the Sanford location to be exact) ok so recently they got rid of the regular girls (in Sanford location). And I just want to say the new girls at not as friendly, can’t remember a face to save their lives and know NOTHING about the flowers.. sorry! The previous girls were very informative, nice friendly and also made u feel at home in the short time it took to get the goods. They have also started burning some kind of oil or something in the shop that takes away from the aromatic smells of the flowers. So it smells like a potpourri shop more than a flower spot. Then the Sanford location NEVER has a good selection of flowers. It’s always oh we’re waiting for a shipment or you have to go to our Orlando store. What’s the purpose of having the store get of we don’t get a wide selection. Then they say we’ll go order online and get next day shipping. Well next day you STILL have to wait like two days to get it and now they have this new payment system on their website that doesn’t even really work. Keeps saying every card I put on there is not valid.idk it’s like the more money I’ve spent the less I am liking it… idk just my opinion! I wish you guys would bring the events to Sanford like you have in deland and Orlando. Who wants to ride all the way to Sanford just...

Not too bad if you’re from out of state and don’t have a medical card. Prices are absurdly high on their flower for no good reason (it’s all greenhouse flower). Local medical dispensary average prices are $20-35/eighth for greenhouse bud and these guys are charging $45 across the board and also gram out for $20/ea ($75 for an eighth if bought gram by gram). These are worse prices than when I was in high school in 2014 and we knew we were getting ripped off back then.

Decent for edibles and the drinks. Concentrates are potent but all have a very “off” flavor to them, like a burning car tire/rubber smell and taste that I’ve only encountered in black market/street dabs and carts. The diamonds were good. Live rosin was ok. Stay away from that nasty D-8 Shatter though, it’s GROSS.

Bud is all mid at best, even for greenhouse flower. Again, not bad for edibles and/or if you are from out of state and don’t want to go the illegal route.

Location specific* lady that greeted and served me at the Sanford location had no idea what anything was and couldn’t make any good recommendations. Not sure if they were super new but they had zero knowledge of anything they were selling. Also weird walking into an empty room with a bar and zero display products. Sterile creepy environment.
