San Felipe Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Sanford

Make this place a part of your regular restaurant rotation. We heard about San Felipe - (they are locally owned and have multiple locations) - and were in the mood for Mexican - so took a chance. We were not disappointed and have come back time and again because of the people - food - and prices.

The people. The entire staff is helpful and courteous. They are prompt in delivering a basket of chips and salsa and getting your drinks to the table even when they are slammed. They are patient when you order and helpful when you aren't sure what you want.

The food. Great portions, hearty, rich flavors, and always hot and fresh. Spicy if you want - and mild if you don't - the San Felipe menu boasts a large assortment of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetarian options - a great collection of appetizers and desserts, and they have a full bar.

The prices - they don't break the bank. Even with a family of five - I don't choke at the ticket. Yes if you add a couple drinks your ticket will reflect it - but they do have drink specials that will keep you on budget. INSIDER TIP - at the checkout you can get a loyalty card! They punch it every visit and buy an entree - so - after a couple visits you start saving!

Definitely 5 STARS ESPECIALLY AMID THIS "tiring temporary time" the world is going thru. Everything from staying within guidelines yet giving customers freedom of a lot of good ole "norms" of life upon entering & being pleasantly & promptly seated. They were very polite & attentive yet not intrusive. Even checking if we needed shade turned down during as the sun was setting. They have a vast variety of fair priced meal entrees, combod & side dishes. Including Vegetarian Combos. We ordered the "Alambre Monterrey Style-Chx or Steak" (chose steak) .. large portions, seasoned perfectly, tender steak..Soo good! Also the "Camarones San Felipe". Two platters- 1 with rice, veggies, avocado etc 2- Sizzling Delicious large shrimp wrapped in bacon over sauteed onions with cheese melted in it giving it a perfect mix that was memorable. The food was great. There were four of us in our party. It was a Sunday afternoon, so we know it's busy & we're expecting to wait a little bit. We actually got sat once we walked in. BUT no one came by our table to get our drink orders for a very long time. We were trying to be patient. But after 20minutes of sitting there, multiple staff members just walking by us, even after getting their attention, I finally had to walk up to a server who was standing against the back wall. I explained that we were still waiting to be greeted after 20mins of being at our table. He brought us chips/salsa & walked off. I had to get another staff members attention to finally get service. It was a rough start to our 1st time here. But after that, everything was great. The food was delicious, and large portion sizes.
