Sonny's BBQ — Restaurant in Sanford

I ordered curbside from this location and was left very unpleased. I showed up to pick on my order on time and clocked in letting them know I was there (this was around 8:30 & they close at 9) As I'm sitting there waiting for 25 minutes I seen the girl at the window look out at me about 10 times. So I'm ticked off at this point because I know my order is done and their about to close. So finally right before 9 I just pulled up to the door and went in. Lo and behold my order is sitting right on the counter where I'm sure it had been the entire time (due to it being cold). I looked around and everyone was just cleaning up and basically getting everything set to close "Before bringing my food out".??! Got home, chicken sandwich was burnt, salad was missing croutons and dressing and they didn't give me not 1 sauce. I called the restaurant the next day to let the manager know my experience. He literally thanked me for reaching out instead of doing a Google review... He got my address to send me a coupon for a free meal for the inconvenience. Welp that was February 3rd & it's now March 5th, and I haven't received anything. This was the Sanford location...

If Google had a zero rating, that is what I would have used today. I ordered on line and got there on time only to find 17 people waiting for their orders. There was one person at the take out counter taking orders on the phone, no one else to assist him. Six more people came in after me. I asked an employee to get the Manager. He/she never showed up. I started looking at the receipts on the counter with 4 orders and mine was one of those. An employee came out of that back at that time and she confirmed that mine was the one I checked. I opened it and the fries were not in the box. I pointed that out to her and she stated I'd have to wait till they cooked some more. I tilde her I wasn't waiting and asked for my drink and she replied that the sodas needed to be replenished. I couldn't stand being there any longer and left. Got home and my brisket was the worst I've ever had. There was literally half meat and half fat.

I will never go back to this establishment again and I will tell everyone 8 know about their substandard...

It was our 1st time @ Sonny’s & the three of us really enjoyed our dinner: the Whole Hog sandwich, Baby back ribs, Smoky ribs, coleslaw, baked beans, Brisket, Smoked Chicken wings, Sliced pork. We wanted to try it all! Good thing they have take home containers. Lol It was ALL delicious; not dry at all. We liked the option of adding the different sauces ourselves. The only thing we didn’t really like was the baked beans; we found them to be too sweet for our tastes. Our server, Amanda, was very friendly, brought our drinks quickly but forgot to bring our appetizer & just brought out our meal instead. Which was just as well as we were very hungry by that time. It was a nice, large place. The only negative was the smokey smell. A little is okay, but by the time we were done with dinner, my eyes were sore. Wasn’t busy or crowded when we got there but started to fill up as we left. Easy to find. Plenty of parking & they have a drive thru! I think we will be making use of that since you can get brisket & pork...
