I am an Uber driver for Uber Eats and I came to pick up an Uber Eats order at this restaurant location today and Uber's GPS does not show you exactly where the restaurant is located in the mall. I assume the restaurant was located in the food court area with all the other restaurants so that's where I went. I couldn't locate your restaurant anywhere so I pressed the call button on my app and it called the wrong location. It called the Huntington Beach location. The manager at the Huntington Beach location was very nice and gave me the number to the main place location. When I called, I told the manager that I was in the mall in the food court area and I couldn't locate your restaurant and if he could please give me directions so I can come and get the order. The manager was very rude over the phone. He told me where the restaurant was located and said I should have no problem locating the restaurant and said BYE! And hung up with an attitude. When I got to the restaurant I talked with the manager who says his name was Andrew. I've told him I was the driver and when I was trying to talk with him he was trying to ignore me and just pointed to where the bag was. After getting his attention I told him I didn't like the way he spoke to me over the phone. I continue to tell him that I was in the food court area and assume the restaurant was there and ask him why was he rude to me over the phone. Andrew said that that's not his problem. He said that he's trying to run a restaurant and don't have time for this. "A part of running a restaurant is making sure that the Uber driver is able to locate your restaurant to pick up an order." So honestly speaking, I was very offended by his approach and how he embarrassed me in front of his guess. So I told him to listen you rude mother f*. He cut me off and he said if I speak to him like that again he would call security and have me a escorted out. He then grab the bag with anger tossed it at me and told me to GET OUT! I'm not a rude person at all but because the way he was rude to me after only asking him for directions, that made me very upset and caused me to curse. At the end of the day, a manager from your restaurant should never be rude to guess or the drivers for no reason. I will never recommend this restaurant and give it...
Read moreClassic BBQ Pork Sandwich ($9.29) is made with slow-roasted and hand-pulled pork tossed in sweet and savory barbecue sauce topped with crunchy house made coleslaw, served hot on a garlic-buttered, toasted sourdough baguette. The pork is nice and tender. The BBQ flavor is more sweet than savory and the pork needs to be tossed in a little more sauce. The coleslaw has a nice savory flavor but also needs more sauce as well. Rating: 4/5
Aloha Pork Sandwich ($9.49) is made with slow-roasted hand-pulled pork slathered with an island-inspired ginger soy barbecue sauce featuring a hint of honey, topped with house-made caramelized pineapple, tangy pickled red onion, and fresh chopped cilantro, served hot on a garlic-buttered, toasted sourdough baguette. This is slightly sweet with a good BBQ flavor. The flavor profile almost makes it beefy versus pork. The sourdough flavor pairs perfectly with the pork. The cilantro gives it a refreshing bite. The garlic-buttered bread adds a creamy richness to the sandwich. I found that this flavor profile is more Latin or South American versus Hawaiian. We don’t really use cilantro in Hawaii. It is far more prevalent in Latin cuisine. Rating: 4.5/5
A third option is the Luau Pork Salad ($10.29), a mix of spring greens and cabbage topped with warm, slow-roasted pulled pork tossed in ginger soy barbecue, topped with caramelized pineapple and tangy pickled red onion made in house, fresh-chopped cilantro, crunchy red bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and toasted almonds served with a zesty ginger soy barbecue vinaigrette. This salad really needs more dressing as the flavor was far too light. Maybe adding more shoyu to the vinaigrette for the savory kick or even using a sriracha ranch dressing would be better. Also, pork just doesn’t seem to work on salad. I think in this case, BBQ chicken would have worked better....
Read moreAMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! ! I can't express this enough - I found myself in a bind last minute and called this location frantic and desperate for help. I needed to provide food for 30+ people and had two hours to find something. I was in tears when David answered the phone and saved the day. Not only did he rush my order but he made great food selections for me. I have been a customer of Boudin's for over a decade and honestly, their food speaks for itself. I wanted to send a HUGE thank you to this location specifically for stepping in last minute and saving my birthday/nursing school graduation party. On top of everything, I found a handwritten birthday card along with a bag of their delicious chocolate chip cookies. I was already a satisfied customer, but the above and beyond attitude of this location is what I wanted to point out. It may not seem like a big deal to them, but their kindness made my entire day. Thank you to David and the team there. You are all...
