Coffee Heist Vietnamese Coffee & Matcha Tea at Mainplace — Restaurant in Santa Ana

Coffee Heist takes their name too seriously. These guys will steal from you as a customer by tacking tips onto my bill without my consent.

They will also lie about it when caught. Instead of refunding me the manager gave me $5 from his own wallet.

My Apple Pay notification identified the charged amount was more than I had paid at the register, so I went back to the counter and I ask for the receipt. He walked to the register and he grabbed the receipt separated the two halves and crumbled a half into a ball and threw it away. I observed the half handed to me and it was the store order half showing the items orders for the kitchen. I asked the for my receipt showing my transaction, the one in the trash and he told me “ that’s the store half”. I asked him to give me the receipt, he dug it out of the trash and handed it to me. Sure enough the receipt stated a TIP was added to the order.

I confronted him and he became defensive. The manager took it upon himself to blame the machine and a dirty screen after he first tried to blame me for touching the screen and approving the tip by accident.

I asked him to process a refund to my card and he refused to and handed me a $5 bill.
