The young lady manager at the Popeyes located at 3825 W. 1st St. was disrespectful for making fun of her customers. The signature chickens that I ordered at around 4-5pm were very salty, and the taste was not fresh, so I notified one of the cashier. The cashier was polite, went inside the kitchen and told her manager about my concern. The manager disagreed with my comment and trusted that her chickens were made consistently. I tried to let the manager know that the chickens I have had at other Popeyes locations were not salty like the chickens that I had at her store.
When I told the manager that I have a health concern with high sodium, the manager sarcastically told me there are warning signs posted in her store about Popeyes chickens' level of salt and grease. I think it is strange for the manager to bring up the topic of "grease" when my concern was about how the chicken I ordered being too salty. The manager was smiling at me in a silly way and not taking our conversation seriously. By mentioning the warning signs, the manager seemed to be suggesting that "fried chickens" are supposed to be this way and making fun of me for even making a comment about fried chickens.
For a while, I really believed there are warning signs in the store like what the manager said. When I asked the manager to show me the warning signs, the manager casually told me in a joking manner that the warning signs used to be there, but they removed it and gave me a "So what?" attitude. Since there were no warning signs anywhere in the store, I think the manager was just making things up about the warning signs for the sake of arguing with and mocking me.
She kept on saying that "I already apologized", but her apology sounded insincere since her tone of voice and facial expression was full of mockery. She was repeatedly smiling/smirking at me when I did not think that the situation was funny at all. In the beginning, I just wanted to give the store a constructive comment with good intention and hoped that this Popeyes store could take my comment with an open-minded attitude but did not expect that I would be made fun of by that young...
Read moreLet's talk about Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on 1st Street in Santa Ana. Now, I'm a sucker for good fried chicken, wouldn't turn down a greasy spoon joint if the food's right. But this? This was a grease-stained low point.
The place looked like it hadn't seen a mop since Katrina. Sticky floors, a soda machine that could probably synthesize its own biohazard (the pictures prove it), the whole ambience screamed "run." The chicken itself? Overcooked, drier than a desert priest's sermon. Bland. The kind of poultry that makes you question the existence of a spice rack in Louisiana. Sides? Don't get me started. Instant mashed potatoes that wouldn't fool a toddler, gravy measured out like Scrooge counting pennies. And those "dipping sauces?" Tiny thimbles you gotta pay extra for, barely enough to christen a single wing.
Honestly, the only saving grace was the health inspector's apparent absence. This Popeyes was a gut punch disguised as a fast-food meal. One star, and that's only because the system wouldn't let me go lower. Take your taste buds elsewhere, folks. You've been warned.
The staff was relatively nice. So, kudos there, but they definitely are not instructed to keep the...
Read moreI watched the workers and saw some chicken was sitting there already. I saw them dump some new ones in on the top shelf which label regular. I order cujun fries and mash potatoes biscuits for my sons. They package me the chicken from the bottom shelf. The fries were done for another order but there was still some left for another. I waited to see how long it would take them just to put he cujun fries in a box to complete my order. I even asked the cashier how long would my order be since I notice people who order after me got there food already. She said they are waiting for the fries. It will take 3 minutes. It was 4-5 minutes later before she package everything.
When I got home and my sons went to eat the chicken. I noticed she gave me 4 fried chicken that was dry and old and 4 new fried pieces mixed in. Biscuits a little dry but still edible.
I used to live in New Orleans, Louisiana. I enjoyed the Popeyes chicken there immensely.
So that is why I give this...
