We were there this last Sunday, 420. I understand it's easter sunday, I worked all day and I work in the same industry came in with my family to celebrate my birthday with the service I received from Jaswa s. Was very upsetting, he was very rude. There was times where I kinda felt discriminated by him. It seemed like he didn't wanna help us. We are Hispanic so I don't understand if that was a problem. I mean, the tip is already automatic and we have no problem with that. But I would ask him something and he will row his eyes give an attitude or just walk away. Before I even finish speaking, I did bring this up to the attention of the cashiers in the front II understand if you guys were super busy, but it was a very slow night which I actually enjoyed that it was slow. Because I said we're gonna get good service. Well, it didn't turn out that way. I had to ask him for refills, and when I asked them, what meat was the one that was thin. What was the name he kinda got bothered? He is a server, and the one that works there. He should be able to help us without a problem. I also believe that a tip should be something you earn. Because you're already getting paid your salary. So for it to be a mandatory tip and get back service, it's horrible. I was very unhappy about the bad service. No problem with tipping 40 bucks, it's perfectly fine again. I work in the same industry but I at least expect the service and for the server to be polite friendly. Happy to be there, and working there. This is not our first time dining with you. Guys, I have never had an experience like this before. Even the busboy That was clean at the tables. Was a lot nicer when I asked him for kimchi...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. I've been to many different Korean BBQ places before, but I have to say that I was really let down by the service, food, and cleanliness of this particular restaurant. It felt like a "sit, order, eat, and leave" kind of place. We had to cook our own food, which is not what I'm used to. Usually, at the other Korean BBQ places I've been to, the servers or waitresses would cook the food for us, especially if it was our first time, to ensure we had the best experience. But that wasn't the case here. The servers and waitresses didn't engage in any small talk or check in on us to try and establish a connection with the customers.
The meat was just okay, but the stew was completely tasteless. It felt like I was eating watered-down stew instead of something flavorful (we ordered the tofu stew and another item). And don't even get me started on the state of the bathrooms. They were so dirty that it almost made me sick. Almost every toilet was clogged, except for one. I understand that the restaurant was busy and short-staffed, but it's important to regularly and frequently check and clean the restrooms, as well as ensure that the toilets are working properly. If they couldn't fix the issue, they should have at least put up a sign or notice saying that the bathroom was closed.
Overall, for our first time at this restaurant, we were extremely disappointed with how we were treated, the lack of cleanliness, and the poor quality of the food. Thankfully, one of the managers gave us a discount, but it will be difficult for us to give this place another chance. We were truly shocked and left feeling very...
Read moreI had already gone to the Wang Cho in Riverside but decided to come here because I received a coupon on the mail for a BOGO 50% off meal.
The problem with Wang Cho is that there's already a lot of competition in OC so there's really got to be a lot of differentiation that'll make this place the one to come back to.
Things I liked: Yelp waitlist - seriously can't stress enough how important this is AND the fact that you can check in from pretty much anywhere helps a lot Rewards program - you just punch in your phone number when you check in Fast service - seriously, it was like clockwork from the server to the bussers Constant grill changes - I never once asked to change the grill and the bussers would consistently walk around to ensure that you had the cleanest grill possible
Things I didn't like: Pricing - it's a bit steep at $25 for the lowest me h and there aren't a lot of things to order in comparison to even just Gen Korean which is cheaper but offers more on their menu Small Portions - this I can understand as a portion control. To some, this can be beneficial for less risk of overeating but it is a bit cumbersome when you just don't want to ask for a lot of meat orders and just have them on the table
Overall, I can't say that Wang Cho left me with an awesome experience but the service was excellent and the food was really good. I would probably continue to come back here if I had coupons to bring down the cost, but with the way I see it, Wang Cho has the restaurant size to accommodate large parties but they lack in attendance likely due to sheer...
