I ordered all nigiri; ika, toro, otoro and salmon fresh and for dessert, fresh local strawberries with San Marcos Farms Wild Flower Honey. I got lucky, I was a walk in and they had a table available which was perfect, downside it was in the second floor which I didn’t enjoy but the atmosphere in the first floor either outside or inside was amazing. I gave 5 stars to atmosphere because is not their fault I didn’t reserve ahead to get a great table. I definitely recommend the first floor to eat if you want to have a comfortable and open experience, unless you enjoy private kid of close upstairs. Food: ika was really good it was squid with mint and rice. It was an amazing experience I never had before with squid, only downside the squid was very thin for my taste. Toro or otoro, unfortunately they both came in the same plate and I was never able to confirm which one was which. But one of them was AMAZING, it dissolve in my tongue perfectly, the other had like a layer of tough sinew which was not enjoyable and very hard to chew. The salmon had the same tough sinew , was very thin and had for my taste a lil too much of wasabi in it. The strawberries were really good, I’m lactose intolerant and I have said it before in my reviews it was so nice to have a dairy free option in the menu for a change. The strawberries had honey and a mint, if you take a small bit of mint and then eat strawberry, WOW. It was my first time doing that and it was a perfect combination. I loved it. I gave a 4 stars to the food because of the thin layer in some of the nigiri and the tough sinew. Overall I recommend anyone to try it. Everyone’s tastes and experiences varies.

This is a Nice contemporary Japanese *sushi restaurant, in Downtown-SB.. But it's a Very Pricey$$$$ restaurant.. with Most yummiest in varieties sushi rollss.. *my FAVORITE is Swing roll, Arigato, spider roll, Hawaiian & caterpillar roll(Caterpillar roll..is kinda Expensive..compares with other sushi restsurant.. prepare regular size/little smaller2 than any other sushi places.. but it charged eithe r$18/20.. but it very yummy & chef creation exactly like a real caterpillar🐛, can try for 1st time.. ** But we DIDn't order 2nd round because we think it was2 Expensive for a roll..$18-20 & small2 in serving.. Meanwhile, other rolls is way cheapers than $5 below && taste yummy deliciously2.. Especially my FAVOrite, *Swing-roll..$12/13👍👏💋😍💖 as well as other sashimis were very Fresh & one more thing I love about this sushi place.. they uses 👍"REAL**Crabs-meats" to makes ALL rollss..👏(NOt Imitation-crabs.. like lotss of other sushi place used..) Arigato also have other plates prepares SUPER GOOD as well.. &&combo-bento-dinner tray2.. if u have been @Arigato...u will never 4get this amazing yummy sushi place wen ever u come 2SBarbara visiting.. u DEFINITELY will come back 4more.. even though, it's a very pricy$$$$$ restaurant.. we just orders rolls we know it was GOOD & less expensive..😉😍🤔🤗👏👍💋💖💕🤶🎅🎄☃️ p.s. almost 4got 1most IMPORTANT thing.. Need2 get here early b4 the restaurant Open @5:30pm..(should be there by 5pm to get in line.. because peoples will fills up the line really quick by 5:30pm.. every1 in line order will runs 2get & grabs theirs 1st seen tables or sushi counter available.. b4 all gone .then the outside patio tabless2..) * Lastly, the hostess will come in & give u #calling.. r take down your cell# & text back later.. but it usually will a Wait for 30mins or longer to an HR Wait after those table in & outside patio the restaurant was ALL gone after the 1st grabs from restaurant 1st Open door.. **so try2 get there Early 2get in line..👏👍 GOOD Lucksss getting yah table 1st.. else Waits if u DON'T mind Waitting for an HR.. by go shopping @SB Downtown mall & come back later.. * also DON'T come @7/8pm Prime-timess..(probably wait4table Longer4indoor, Up2 more than an HR.. outside table usually shorter wait if available, (because of COLDness.. lots of customerss decliness patio-outdoor & wait for indoor table/sushi counter seatss..)...

I cannot recommend this place enough. For a fun night out, date night, or if you're just in the mood for some quick sushi at the counter, this place is an excellent choice. If the wait isn't too long (or if it is but you're with a fun group of not-too-hungry people!), I would definitely say "go on in and treat yourself!"

I've sat down for a 4-person meal and also walked in to chit chat and eat nigiri at the counter, and either experience is very rewarding and well worth the price for the quality and service. The interior is crowded and very energetic atmosphere so be aware that getting in and out of your seat may be a little hassle (at the counter or at the tables), but personally, I thought it added to the social and fun energy of the place. Sitting at the counter is well worth the experience. The chefs are very funny and informative if you feel like engaging and they make excellent recommendations for food or fun things to do in the area.

The actual food is delicious and the quality and variety of fish as well as the sushi assembly is amazing. Always peek at the recommendations behind the sushi bar or ask your server or chef (if you're at the counter), because they're always so fresh and delicious. Great place to be introduced to sushi/sashimi or enjoy as a long-time lover of fish. Plating is also very beautiful, simple and elegant for the nigiri and more elaborate for some of the rolls, but overall adds a lot to the experience and is fun rather than frilly or bougie. The rolls are also very good though I prefer nigiri/sashimi because the fish is high quality. There are several vegetarian (possibly vegan) items on the menu as well so it's a place people of many dietary preferences and restrictions can enjoy. (Though I haven't ordered any, these veggie options do look very delicious!)

Will be making my...
