For a bite and an ambience that won't disappoint, whether it be a formal date-night out or a wild time in town, Cielito combines the best aspects of near fine dining into one conveniently located restaurant. The setting can be romantically intimate or lively and exciting, with torches and dangling lighting fixtures to illuminate the exotic modernity of the interior. An upstairs loft peers overhead, providing a great private dining/meeting space as well. Of the various Mexican/South American foods I've indulged in, Cielito has definitely climbed near the top of my list, dishing out some tantalizing appetizers ranging from the to-be-expected, yet extraordinary tasting guacamole, ridiculously tasty ceviches coming in 3 varieties, and multiple mouthwatering quesadillas that even my vegetarian friends were blown away by, specifically the baby kale, asparagus, manchego, and creamy poblano pepper sauce variation. Their chorizo is good, but not the best in SB. Even though I was attending an industry/hospitality event with free food and drinks provided, the wait staff was courteously attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, even without much anticipation of gratuities from the group...(which were still provided given their excellent service!) Overall, I'm rather impressed and very eager to...

Read moreI wanted to thank this wonderful restaurant and its staff, for being the highlight of my year. And to alert all my Celiac brethren in the area that not only was the food delicious (a rarity for celiacs) but the staff was extremely conscientious and patient. While they were not aware of the dangers of cross contamination for people with Celiac disease vs a dietary preference, they were extremely receptive to my queries. I would urge them to become Celiac certified (it is free and the Celiac Federation supplies free training for your staff.) The real test is that, not only did I not end up in an emergency room sucking down blood like a modern day vampire (blood is very expensive, usually not worth the cost of going out to eat), but I was actually able to enjoy a concert at the Granada and feel like a normal person enjoying time out with friends without feeling like a kill joy food nazi, or horribly deprived. Once again thank you for my Cinderella night ! Yours...
