EDIT: I took off stars because since the last time I reviewed, CeCe had been replaced by someone (whom I assumed was the owner). Last time, she made a clear reaction for me not giving tip for a big order I picked up myself. Today, she went as far as "coercing" for a tip and made me uncomfortable. She said "no forcing" but she was basically.
I understand that during this pandemic businesses are struggling, but I'm also a (struggling) business owner and I usually drive to pick up food myself to save from giving tips and fees. I have been ordering from this place pretty much every two weeks, and I'm not sure if she prefers to get a tip now instead of retaining a returning customer.
I believe in tips when I'm being serviced, as when someone delivers to me or take care of my table. But just because a business is struggling to pay their staff doesn't mean I need to be made to feel like a bad person for picking up my $50+ order myself.
Cece was amazing and very helpful. We ordered a roll combo as a takeout and she didn't hesitate to throw me a complimentary side salad when I asked. The sushis are beautiful and the rice is so thin (more rooms for the goodies) 👌!! Worth...
Read moreI really do not want to write this review, as we've been ordering takeout from Happy Sushi since the start of the pandemic. But two of the last three times we ordered from them, I had serious stomach problems the next day, and this last time, my husband also has stomach problems.
The 1st time I had a problem was a few months ago - and I honestly wasn't 100% sure it was Happy Sushi, but we took a break from ordering, just in case. Several weeks later, the next order was fine. Then last night we ordered again.
This morning I have a bad stomach bug with a ton of vomiting, and my husband has a bug as well, but much less severe. He and I ate entirely different lunches separately yesterday, and the only meal we had together was dinner from Happy Sushi.
I'm sorry to leave this review because I know they're a small business, but I don't want anyone else to get sick. They need to know that something wasn't quite right in last night's orders.
I have been eating sushi and other Japanese food regularly for most of my life, and I certainly do not usually...
Read moreThe food was alright - the poki salad was probably their best item. The place is small, maybe about 7 booths and 4 tables to sit at.
We went on a Saturday night expecting some quick sushi before we head out, but what happened was a long drawn out process, mainly due to the fact that they had one server for the whole place - even as small as it is. We saw 3 tables walk out because they were never greeted. The tables that were greeted didn't get drinks/food for some time. It took us a half an hour alone to order our dinner after we asked if we could order - this was after the fact that we had ordered the poki salad and edamame, which had been delivered a half an hour before. Even our friends Togo order he placed before he met up with us was 20 to 30 minutes late.
As hard as it is to leave a negative rating...I don't recommend this place, unless they can get more...
