I recently dined with my boyfriend and was unfortunately disappointed by the lack of professionalism and awareness shown by our waitress. While the food and setting were acceptable, the service we received detracted significantly from the overall experience.
Upon being seated, the waitress immediately directed her attention to my boyfriend, making a comment about his shoes. While a light comment like that could be harmless in another context, it set the tone for what became a pattern of one-sided attention. Throughout the service, she engaged mostly with him, made eye contact primarily with him, and at one point returned with only one water for our table, despite the obvious fact that we were two guests.
This kind of lopsided service might seem subtle, but it communicates a lack of respect or consideration for both people at the table. As the meal continued, I found myself having to take the lead in speaking, simply because I felt overlooked.
When our food was delivered, by another staff member, which we appreciated, we decided to move to a larger table to have more space. I initially sat next to my boyfriend, and later shifted across from him to be more comfortable. The waitress returned and, upon seeing that change, remarked: “That makes more sense.”
While this may have been an innocent observation regarding seating preference or comfort, it struck me as a comment that lacked situational awareness. In hospitality, it’s essential for staff to read the room and know when a remark may be unnecessary or potentially awkward. Comments about how a couple chooses to sit, especially after an already unbalanced interaction, can come off as intrusive or even subtly judgmental.
Additionally, I would like to provide some constructive feedback for this waitress: when a man walks in with his significant other, it is important to greet and engage both individuals equally. Regardless of who is paying or who seems more outgoing, every guest deserves equal attention, respect, and professionalism. Making one person feel invisible, even unintentionally, undermines the experience for both and reflects poorly on the establishment’s customer service culture.
Ultimately, while the meal itself was fine, the experience left a sour taste due to the lack of attentiveness and imbalance in how we were treated. I hope this feedback serves as a helpful reminder for staff training: hospitality is not just about friendliness.. it’s about awareness, respect, and understanding that the details of interaction matter. Other than that the man cleaning the tables...
Read moreThe food here is decent. The food may not be worth the 30-45 minute wait for some people though. They have a plethora of omelettes to choose from. Probably overkill in my opinion as some have very subtle differences between them. The service is definitely not worth the wait.
Today was our fourth time eating at this restaurant. All visits left something to be desired.
The first time our waitress was very pleasant and adequately attentive. Not many complaints. Basically the same service you'd get at a Denny's.
The second waitress was good but overworked. Probably due to her sharing the same section as the waitress we had on our fourth visit (I'll get to that).
The third waiter sat us and it took him forever to get our drinks/refills. He never paid much attention to our table in general.
Now the fourth waitress was something special. Upon being seated, she got our drinks immediately, and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for more time. As we sat looking over the menu we heard two seperate tables, right next to ours, cackling back and forth with one another. The first table says across to the other, "You're gonna leave her a 100 dollar tip right?" "Yes, of course! We love her!" answered the second table. To which the first table answered back, "We're going to tell everyone to leave a hundred dollar tip. She's amazing! We're going to spread the word!" I sit there listening to these people as my coffee cup lies at the edge of the table empty after our waitress (the "amazing" one they have been raving about the entire time) had glanced at our table 3 times already. We haven't even eaten half our meals before she drops the check at the table (right next to the empty coffee and water cup) and says, "Here's the check. No rush," and proceeds with, "Do you want a box?" Before we could really give her a response, she was already inching back to her special guests with the deep pockets.
As I sit here waiting for my coffee at home to finish brewing, I will leave you with this one note: If you expect good service, lower your expectations. Especially, if "Camry" (fourth waitress) is waiting on your table... that is unless you have...
Read moreBUST. Staff (Joel) = 5 Stars! Food… Did not hit the mark for us at all.
I had super high hopes for this place because of the line and the reviews but beyond the extensive menu this was your run-of-the-mill diner with food made without love or thought.
If flavor/finesse is not necessary and you just want quantity, the prices do meet up to the portion sizes I guess. It does have a very extended/exciting looking menu but… that is not a plus in this case.
We did: O.J., Blueberry Muffin french toast, biscuits & gravy, & a specialty SWEET omelette with peaches.
French toast = Not crispy, excessive amounts of egg. My sweetheart was able to peel off a layer of it from the mushy muffin loaf. Ready whip (not a problem but was hoping for more)
Biscuits & gravy = Flavor of gravy was solid but not enough served to soften the DENSE throat drying biscuits (Could not easily cut with a fork)
Sweet omelette & hashbrowns = I wanted to try something weird that I could only get here and the server was honest about his savory preferences but I went for it anyway. I mean… The flavor was different for sure so i was exploring that new thing but half the omelette was naked/only thick double layer egg, i did spread some over but by the time i made it to the part with the majority of the filling it was sooo overpowering. Hashbrowns… They are wide shavings, but zero crispy, just a soft mountain. I guess id recommend the breakfast potatoes because they looked a little better. But not holding my breath on flavor.
I do love trying new places but … I wish I would’ve skipped this and made breakfast at home.
I had been eyeing this place for over 8 months! And was so drawn in by the line but it was a bust.
I will say I used to work as a wine professional/food pairing so i might be a little critical but my sweetheart is not. He can barely smell/taste anything and he was on the same page. We could not finish any off our plates… which is saying something because 99/100 times I clean my...
