Canyon Theatre Guild — Attraction in Santa Clarita

My family went to see Southern Fried Funeral back in September 2022 and it was honestly such a treat. The entire staff and cast were very kind, charming, charismatic, and endlessly talented. If this theatre has any stand-out member, it is definitely the set designer for the stage is so professionally made it makes the performances feel so much more grand. My only complaint is definitely not an uncommon one: Parking is a nightmare on popular weekend evenings due to Newhall Refinery being right next door. There is now a parking structure which has vastly improved this, but if you have any mobility issues, I would recommend going to early performances. I would recommend also bringing at least a light coat because this area tends to be a bit more windy than other parts of the Valley. I went to see the stage play Little Mermaid. My grandaughter who is 7 was in the play. It was very nice. The lobby area and the inside hallway leading to the theater was beautful with gorgeous oil paintings on the wall. The stage, curtain, dressing rooms, costumes for children were shabby and poor. It could use a good make over, remodeling. Did not match the rest of the theater. Children deserve better conditions in which to do a costume change. Money needs to be donated to the theater for remodeling back half. Otherwise, it was good to see these children on stage with such passion for acting...

As usual, the show was excellent. Gilligan's Island, was well played. This theater is an excellent local venue and puts on the best shows. Sometimes, you can get Broadway quality for extremely inexpensive prices. Some of the shows are not as good, but definitely worth the cost of a local theater ticket.
