Horrible customer service. The lady I complain to my order was placed at 7:47 at at 8:15 I am asking where my order is half an hour later her reaction is to laugh at me ask me for my receipt not even apologize look for my order and then put the blame on me saying that they called out my order and no one answered why would you not insist on an order half an hour later it's been sitting there then I asked her if my order is hot or cold I look and the guy had just finished them so it took him half an hour for regular tacos with no toppings so I got mad and unfortunately bit of a jerk move I slapped the tape off of counter tape roll that was on the counter they piss me off she was disrespectful laughed at me like I was in the wrong for waiting for my order quietly being patient when I ask for my money back cuz I had enough then my order appear I don't get it the place is run-down I noticed bathroom doors black like no one ever cleans the floors black underneath the counter where the register is black just incredible the salsa bar which could be very nice small doesn't matter simple however the salsa bar was empty it wasn't until I scrape the bottom and they saw me that they went over there and replace the salsas I guess the anglos in the area don't really know what a good Mexican restaurants like it's a shame because I see these all over LA County and I've never walked into one until a guy down the street at the refinery told me it was decent...
Read moreI had the Menudo and was a little disappointed that it was made sin grano (that means without hominy for all us güeros out there lol) but it was awesome that they hecho con pata (make it with pig feet). It was also a little under-seasoned for my taste. But once we added the usual add.ins (cilatro, onion, oregano, red chili, and lime) and some salt.... now we eating good! The menudo itself was tender with a good flavor, so they cleaned it well before cooking. The pieces could have been a bit smaller, like the size of a quarter rather than the size of poker chip.
My wife had the ceviche tostada. The fish was a little mushy, and they did not quite balance the seasoning with the lemon, tomato onion, and tabasco. But the tostada was light and crispy and they were generous with the avocado. Overall, it was pretty good.
The dining area had plenty of seeting and included movable tables and chairs, which makes it very convenient for a large family meals. The chair backs are each hand painted and carved are a delight.
This is a walk up and order and pick up your food style place so service was pretty good. The bathroom needed a little attention.
Overall, it's not a bad place at all with a little bit of tweeking on the seasoning of their food this place could be at...
Read moreVisiting Santa Clarita for the day and wanted a Mexican breakfast. We landed at El Taco Llama because many places are closed on Monday. The menu had pictures of everything and you order at the counter and pick up your food. We ordered the #6 Huevos a la Mexicana and a #10 combo Quesadilla con carne asada and a carne asada taco. Each order had a side of rice and beans and a little salad with guac sauce. They have two options of salsa - red and a spicy green one. Place is cute with a nod to soccer too. Service was good, we were the only people when we arrived and the food took a bit long to come out. They announce your order so make sure you’re listening for it. It started to get a little busier after 11am. The food was okay, the rice and beans were flavorless and warm to cool. I think they prep the cold plate before adding the main hot food which also wasn’t hot. The eggs were overcooked as well. The carne quesadilla was tasty and so was the taco. At least it was a little warmer and not cold. They can improve on their napkins and utensils. No napkins or spices available - you need to ask for them. There is parking all over. The place look’s clean. I think this place has potential. No one likes cold and flavorless food. It was $27 for both meals...
