Didn't blink, so much to see. Big smile as I reminisced treats of my childhood, and discovered items new to me and my grandson. I could spend a cool hour here just looking through everything. It was all giggles and smiles until check out. A middle aged male didn't bother to pause his personal call on his cell to say hello, seemed displeased that we were disrupting his call. I thought perhaps it was bad news because I noticed him on his phone when we walked in being the only customers in the store at the time. Based on his stoic face, I decided to give the poor guy a break, until he stated laughing like a school girl then returned to his previous flat face conversation. I wish I spoke his native tongue so I could interrupt his conversation to say, HELLO I'M HAPPY YOU'RE NOT HAVING A BAD DAY. He continued to ignor us as he rang up items, only made eye contact to accept payment which was via debit card then he directed me by pointing out a chip reader. No bag offered for the multiple lil items purchased, no goodbye, ZIP and my first and last visit was over. Too bad as I would have happily made this a reward center for my grandson. Hope you all have better luck with customer service then we had. Gave 4 stars because of the store concept would have given 5 stars for even bland...
Read moreParking was a real pain. I drove around and around the whole area for 20 minutes, before someone finally pulled out of a spot. Google maps took me to the back, but the back is locked, even though some shops have back doors. The entrance is in front. It was worth the hassle, though. The shop is big, beautiful, and full of fun stuff. I had a great time wandering around, and left with more than $50 worth of candy 😄 There is a parking garage a couple of blocks away, but I didn't want to pay for parking if I was just going to stop in a candy store for 20 minutes. There are shops and restaurants up and down that street, though. The point of my trip was to find some Violet Crumble, which they had on their Facebook page, and which I've heard a lot of good things about online, but they were out of it. The pandemic has shipping lines backed up, and I think Violet Crumble comes from the UK. Thankfully they had tons of other things that I was interested in, so the trip across Santa Clarita...
Read moreAs i was walking to my car parked in the security gaurded parking structure to leave this nastalgic candy shop drew me in with the fizz zaps abba zabba candy necklaces and a large selection of root beers, if one is a root beer connoisseur it is the man behind the counter. He was helpful and knowledgeble on all the root beers. I had so much fun learning and conversing with this gentleman. He knew his products and where they could be found and when the next shipment would be in without ever leaving his post behind the counter. He has ice cold sodas and candy and novelty items cream sodas although not as vast of selection as the rootbeer still if you stop in and i highly reccomend that you do i am sure there is something from days past that will trigger a fond memory and or start up conversation with the man behind the...
